Mister VCS
I want to start a little contest: who owns the VCS with the lowest or highest serial-number? The number of mine PAL Atari-Wong 6-switch VCS is 549392006. Is there any relationship between the SN and the year/month the VCS was manufactured? I know AI means Atari Ireland, AT Atari Taiwan and AC Atari China, but the SN? Mister VCS
HermChase
My S.N. Reads: TR-83-0392465. That is on a Vader NTSC 2600. --------- Chase Hermsen

ATARIPITBULL
Well for which of the 2600 systems are you talking about? It seems that the Jrs, have lower numbers than the 4 or 6 switch models and the also have letters infront of the numbers. My Jr PAL is: XC1 C4 250705, but my Smaller of the 2 vader boxes is: AT 831148103.

Tsukasa
I wonder if a #0000001 does exist One probably exists out there somewhere but it may have been a prototype or something similar. My four switch vadar doesn't have a SN.... I think the label was removed before I got it. | (Ebay... ) My 6-switch Sears' SN is 82155903. bjk7382
I have a pretty low one. Atari Heavy Sixer (made in Taiwan) T 0003246 the 'T' makes it not so low of a number;) That just means it is the 3246th. one they made in taiwan, right? It is a heavy six and it says taiwan on it so they probly just sent the extra heavy shells to taiwan when they moved production.
InanimateCarbonRod
4 switch NTSC 827065253 (Taiwan) 4 switch NTSC 568074187 (Hong Kong) 6 switch NTSC 568276868 (Hong Kong) 6 switch NTSC 568275352 (Hong Kong) I also have another 4 switch, but the SN label is missing - I think it's unit# 000000001 | Jerry

video game addict
This is so confusing there's so many different ways to view those numbers different models different plants, etc. I believe for the ones that start off 81, 82 or 83xxxxxxx Those first two digits are actually the year it was made, I have a 4 switcher 81095303 Would make it a 81 model, that is number 95.303 off the line, then above Tsukasa's Atari Sears, 82155903, would be 1982, 155,903 AtariPitbull's Atari 831148103, would read as 1983, 1,148,103 Seems logical as the years go on, the overall nuber is going up too. I was looking at a 4 switch woodgrain Atari, the Tsukasa has a Sears, 6 switch still, not sure would they still being made then? Later Pitbull has a Vader in 83... It's all screwy! There are also those ingraved numbers on the bottoms of alot of Ataris my example above is 421, would be 42 week of 81, again matches the 81 serail being made in 81, this is the way I think they are anyway. The Heavy's is a different matter, too many letters thrown in, I'm thinking the letters, go up over time to each letter may have a run of 100,000 maybe? Mister VCS
Telling the truth, only the bottom of my 6switch has this SN, becaus my sixer is a mixture between 2 or three not-working sixers. I was very proud that i was able to create (not Frankenstein) a working and good loking sixer by myself! All switches work, the woodgrain is complete, and all labels are on the correct place.
