Joel D. Park
I'm happy to report that the rarest thing I ever ruined was a Keystone Kapers cart that I burnt up trying to do the crazy "Fry the Atari" trick. Never again. How about you guys. Ever accedentaly drop that Dumbo's Circus proto in the toilet. Or did your dog chew up your boxed Quadrun?? Just wondering. Hakogame 箱亀
Well, it wasn't rare, but I damaged my super cross force colecovision cart by cleaning it. Apparantly alcohol dissolves the ink that spectravision used on their metallic lables, thank god I didn't try this on my Chase the Chuckwagon cart. ATARIPITBULL
I'm very carful of my Atari 2600 games and equipment, but I did once place one of my copies of Montezumas revenge on my bed and forgot about it, then latter on I jumped on the bed and crushed it with my knee. khryssun
I had no big problems so far... The only bad thing I made (just a few times fortunately) was to switch on the VCS before inserting a game or to remove a cart before to switch it off..... Damn I Hate that
Tempest
I ruined a Krull cart by using a cleaning solution which took off all the black ink on the end label (leaving the end label solid red). It ws very odd since I had never had any trouble with it before. Maybe Atari changed the typed of ink they used over the years? +Zeptari
It's not an Atari Item, but back when I first got a tabletop Donkey Kong unit I spilled a full glass of orange juice on it!! My Father was very upset...We took the unit back and said it was defective. With the cash refund I bought 2600 Donkey Kong ... and another game.. I think it might have been Frogger.... RangerG
I totally agree with the post on alcohol rubbing off the Spectravision labels. I have done that twice. Alcohol works great on the cart, but you need to be careful with the labels. I use Windex now (or just water to be completely safe). Anyone use anything that cleans but doesn't destroy labels?? jahfish
yes, i use special vinyl cleaner for car interriors, for all the plastic part inside. it cleans very well and leaves even the case a little shiny. half a year ago, i accidentaly sat on my boxed ITT laser base. the packaging was completely crusched, and i needed half a year to get a boxed one again, these are pretty rare and expensive ... since then, i always leave my carts next to the console, not on the sofa or my bed anymore ... now i have a plastic case with a clone console (with 256 games) and 14 carts in the case, mostly multicarts like the bit corps 4-in-one, atarimania with 32 games, 2-in-1 PAKs from australia, and there one place left for sean kellys multicart, i reserved the last place in my case.... that's a very nice set, because i don't need to dig out so many carts to play. most of the (interesting) games are all on these multicarts
