Iv'e never seen one of these. What is it?

It's the Sears version of the Atari 2600. Atari sold the VCS and Sears called it something else,but it's the same thing, a 2600.

The Picture shown doesn't look anything like the telegames systems I know of. Was this a later model? Like when the Atari version went all black?

This is another release of the 2600 from sears. It was called the Telegames 2 system. It is based off the Atari 2700 design that was actually the 2600 as it was released in Japan. If you really look...this is also the same basic case the 7800 was later designed from.

 

Check the hardware section here in the 2600 archives..or over at Atarihistory. Either of these places should give you all you wish to know on this unit.

looking at the pic for that machine, the space cavern cart is not like either one listed here at atariage's page. so if you are into collecting the carts too, this is an interesting find. good price too.

If you want the system as well, it's all your. I only wanted the game. And I see it listed again on ebay somewhere anyway.
