Atari lover gets bummed.... :(

Hi, all. Quick post...I got my Atari 2600 back from the person I let borrow it (foolishly, I might add) and I noticed that I had no power adapter, RF switch, or converter plug (the one that let's you hook the RF switch to a newer, cable-ready TV)!! So, yes, I have the system back, but no, I cannot play it! Hopefully, he still has these items and I can get them back, but if he doesn't....suggestions for obtaining them? Would Radio Shack have them? Thanks for your help, people.

radio shack has RF switches and such...but for the power adapter, what i do is goto yard sales, pick up some v6-96 adapters, and then cut off the end plug in piece, but some cheap 99cent head phones up at wallgreens or something, cut the plug off of that, strip the ends of the adapter wires, and the end of the plugs wires, and attach them, then use electrical tape n stuff to make sure they stay in place.

also, the plugs on the end of some old speakers i had i found worked well also.

i have made 2 adapters so far, tested both of them and they work fine.

Thanks for the heads up on that one! He also told me that he mixed up the bags, and found the missing Atari stuff. I should get it back in about a week. Sigh, at least I put it on display now! Things are okay now that it's back in my posession.

A good place for you to find an adapter if you still have a problem is

Video Game Exchange in Plastow.

Ok I know you are not that close

to Plastow but is is worth the trip. It's on Route 125.

He has LOTS of classic games and stuff.

He generally uses the DP guide for prices.
