Classic Gaming Relief Auction Status?

I was just wondering what the status is on the Relief Auction?

 

To all the rest of you:

 

Try to donate an item or 2 if there's any way you possibly could. It'd be really cool for the Classic Gaming community to really rally together around this issue.

I would donate items if i could but i dont have a good amount of stuff to give away my rare stuff!

We've recieved items from about 10 people so far, some very nice pieces indeed, and we've sent out confirmation emails to those people. Collectors have been very generous. We'll give people another week or two to get the items in, then we'll make some announcements about the auctions getting underway.

I've taken pictures of most of the items we've received thus far and will be posting them this weekend (along with anything else that arrives by the end of the week). We'll soon start writing up descriptions of the auction items in preparation for putting them up on eBay. We want to do this right so we can generate the most amount of cash for the relief efforts. At this point we'll probably run separate items for nearly everything, to give more people a chance to win individual items and hopefully a higher return on the entire lot. It's just a bit more effort to setup separate auctions for everything, but certainly worth it..

Did you decide how you wanted to break the auctions up.. There are some items there I would definatly bid up high by themself. But probably not high enough for the whole lot of 2600 stuff..

We've pretty much decided that we won't be running one large auction as initially envisioned. There are few people who'd be willing to shell out the kind of cash that such an auction would be worth, so not only would we cheating those who'd like to bid on individual items, but we'd also be cheating the relief efforts of a good sum of cash.

 

Most of the items people have pledged are pretty unique and stand on their own. For the most part, I believe most items will be auctioned individually. But some items will likely be grouped together, such as the Neo*Geo carts we're offering (although that's not set in stone yet.. ).
