"King's Quest" ripped-off "Swordquest"!

Really, when you look at them, they aren't to far off apart. Both have you on quest, obviously. In both of them you need to pick up objects to continue the journey. And the interesting thing is the "Swordquest" came about 2 years earlier than "King's Quest"! Graham even looks like an Atari character. Anybody else here feel the same way?

I think you have blurred the lines a little too much. According to your criteria:

just about any RPG is a rip of Swordquest. I haven't played all of the KQ series, but the ones I have played were decent and pretty different.

Swordquest, it seems to me, was more about simple puzzle/action challenge and placing items in the correct rooms according to the story in the comic.

Kings Quest was more about sub-quests, more complicated puzzles, character/environment interactions and internal storylines. There weren't too many action challenges.

Then again, I haven't played them all so there could be similarities I am missing...
