Wizard Video Games.

I was instantly drawn to Wizard Video Games, I collect horror films and I've long known about their VHS films. Personally, I think they had SOME potential, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is fun in a sick, gory way, and it's refreshing to play something that was considered outrageous on the 2600. "Halloween" is cool but not as good. I also remember advertisements for a "Flash Gordon" spoof, anybody know what happened to that?

I don't know what happened to it, but the spoof's title is Flesh Gordon. It was to be based on the film of the same name, a pornographic takeoff on the Flash Gordon mythos.

Yeah as a kid I loved the THOUGHT of the Wizard games. I never actually played them as a kid and had to wait until I was about 25 and bought Halloween for $80. Then I got to play TexesCM on Stella. I first saw the horror ones advertised in the back of Fangoria...I also remember seeing an ad or an article on Flesh Gordon at the time...Maybe in National Lampoon...or Heavy Metal??? I cant remember. Anyways I found this page with an image of the box.

That's the game I was thinking of, although judging by the box, I doubt it was the "first" of it's type! Perhaps there's a prototype floating around somewhere.
