StanJr
The FLEA came up big today (well, ok, not really), but I did find a Barnstorming cart (hey, its the first cart I have ever found here in KY) And the guy who had it says he has 3 systems and over 100 games and he'll hook me up. (I know we've all heard these stories before, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, who knows.) ANYWAY. I know this has been asked before, but I cannot find where it was, the cart has some "dirt" on the label and I'd like to try to clean it up. How do I do that without destroying the label? Finally found something Stan
RangerG
Just look on the firsr AtariAge page under "reference" and then "how to". Good luck cleaning.
StanJr
Thanks. I'm still a little nervous about putting alcohol on the label itself. Has anyone done this with success?
Osbo
don't use alcohol, it'll take the ink in the labels away. Osbo [ 10-06-2001: Message edited by: osbo ]
StanJr
That's what the How To on this site said. I was thinking a slightly damp q-tip gently applied. Will this do it or will it also damage the label?
Snider-man
The slightly damp Q-Tip trick may work. I've used a slightly moistened paper towel on particularly cruddy labels. You may also want to try Goo Gone if it's a particularly sticky/nasty residue. SNider-man

StanJr
YIPES! I'm going to give the q-tip a go here in a minute. Thanks for the help!
RangerG
How did it go with alcohol? Alcohol really cleans, but I've stopped using it because I ruined a couple of labels. I use a Q-tip with alcohol on the inside, but just soapy water on the label and cart. I'd rather a little dirt on the cart than a messed up label. How about Armor-All on carts? It works great on consoles. -- RG
StanJr
The hot, wet q-tip did nada, zip, nothing, but make my label wet. The damage may be permanent. I'm tempted to try the alcohol just a little and see what happens. Maybe I'll grab some GOO-GONE tomorrow....

Skatepunk60
Are you sure its dirt and not actiplaque
StanJr
Yeah, it looks to me like some general funk and crud from being handled by crumb-gobbling children. I'm going to get that GOO-GONE stuff tomorrow and give that a try. If all else fails I'll lightly apply that tempting alcohol....It is just Barnstorming after all.
