san-d-2000
I just bought this modified cartridge on eBay, and was wondering if anyone could tell me, what the switch at the top does. cartridge scan Unfortunately it didn´t came with any eproms, so I have no way of testing it. So if anyone here has a spare eprom and is willing to sell or trade it please let me know. thanks, Sandy.
DanBoris
I've never seen one of these with a switch. It's possible that the switch allows you to put in an 8K EPROM with two games burned on it, the switched would allow you to select one or the other. It's only a guess, but it's possible. The only way to know for sure is to open up the cart and see how it is wired. Dan
Osbo
yeah, I had one of those carts, with the switch in the side, to change from Voleyball to Pele's Soccer OsBo
Eckhard Stolberg
The socket only has 24 pins, so it can only hold EPROMs up to 4KB. The switch might allow you to select between two 2K games on a 4K EPROM, it might enable/disable the inverter for the chip select line, so that you can use EPROMs and normal ROMs in this cart, or it might disable address line A11, so that you can play 2K EPROMs with games that are mapped in at $F000 instead of $F800. But as Dan has said, you'll only know, if you open the cart and look how the switch is wired. Ciao, Eckhard Stolberg
san-d-2000
Thanks for the info, I think I will try to get a 4k eprom first before opening the cartridge. Sandy.
Joel D. Park
I just got one of those eprom carts with the switch this weekend. I'm not 100% what the switch does, but I think it may be to use regular atari games that aren't eproms. Every game I played uses the switch in on position. Later, Joel D.
