I spent a good amount of time playing this in the arcades also. Hope someday a binary image of this is released so we can see just how good of a port it really is. At the very least it'd be nice to take decent screenshots in an emulator and see how "complete" the game is!

I believe it's 100% complete. I think the problem was the market was falling out and they decided not to bother releasing it. It could also be that the Arcadia wasn't the commerical success that Emerson was hoping for and UA (who did the games for the Arcadia) lost some money in the deal and went out of business before they could release it for the 2600.

 

BTW, anyone know who UA Ltd. was or who their programmer(s) were? This has been the single biggest question in the Arcadia community.

I'd like to know who the original (arcade) programmer was as well!

 

Btw, from that screen shot, it looks as if some elements were "lifted" from other games - the city from Defender, the strange "Nexar-like" display in the upper-right, and the 'ships left' icon looks familiar too, but I can't place what game it's from...

 

And the rocket and radar dish are on the opposite sides
