ok, then if what your saying is correct (I'm sure it is) The paddle function of this thing is busted.

Anyone ever open one of these controllers? What should I look for? Like I said the paddle function doesnt move at all, so i'm guessing its not just a dirty something or other. I guess i'll crack it open sometime this weekend to take a look.

First of all, make sure that you're testing it with the right game... Video Olympics. I know that some paddle games use the "other" paddle, so the paddle on the SVR2 controller won't do anything (Astroblast does this). With something like Video Olympics or Warlords, you can test all four inputs at once.

If that still doesn't find you a working paddle, open it up and look for loose/broken connections. The paddle is basically just a potentiometer, which doesn't generally break. If all else fails try spraying some WD-40 into the potentiometer and keep turning it back and forth for a while... maybe there's a wad of dust in there gumming it up.

I just received a sears video arcade II controller in the mail. It functions fine as a joystick. However It doesn't seem that the paddle function works at all. You can press right to get button action, but any normal joystick can give you that result. Is this controller broken or does it only work in the actual Sears video arcade II system? I'm trying it in a Gemini, but I don't think that would matter. If any one has any info to help me out, please let me know. Thanks!
