Jess Ragan
I guess my Galaxian mod went over with the Atari Age editors like a lead balloon, because they never responded to my E-mail or posted it on the site. Looks like I'll have to find some other way to distribute it. JR

And I'd like to be able to take a look at it firsthand before posting something about it. I'm running about a day behind my email right now, and you sent that to us yesterday around this same time. I apologize for not responding yet, I'll try to look at it today. Look how long it took me to post the news about the 5200 Adventure II. The weekdays tend to be a little more time squeezed than the weekends, especially lately. Not to make excuses, but I'm working many hours on a game that's supposed to ship for Christmas and I'm about to move all my stuff out from California to Texas so I've been looking for a place to live. So please don't take our lack of a response yet as meaning we're not interested in what you've created. ..Al
Jess Ragan
Thanks for the explanation, Albert. Yeah, I know how it goes and I can wait for you to check out the mod when you've got some free time. JR
+Cafeman
What game/system are you working on, Albert? (if you are allowed to say). Hombrew or professional product? I didn't know you did that! Just curious.

Hombrew or professional product? I didn't know you did that![QB] I'm working on Deus Ex for the Playstation 2. Definitely a professional project, considering the number of people working on it and that I'm getting paid for it.. I was one of the programmers for the original PC version and never imagined I'd be working on the PS2 port someday. This project is nearing completion, not sure what I'll be working on next (ahhh, the joys of game development!) ..Al
Mindfield
Dang! I'd no idea you worked in such a large software house. I rather liked Deus Ex, actually. It was a nice change of pace from traditional FPS games, and the levels were laid out beautifully -- it added tremendously to the realism. Somehow I can't imagine it on the PS2, though. But then I have trouble imagining most FPS-style games on the PS2, mainly because I can't imagine playing FPS-style games without the mouse/keyboard combo. :-) (Even dual analog sticks can't replace a good mouse. :-)

We completely revamped the interface from scratch and it actually works quite well with the Dual Shock. In fact, it's probably easier to do many things on the PS2 than it was on the PC.. That pretty much leaves controlling the player as the biggest concern. You have excellent control using a keyboard and mouse on the PC. The analog sticks work pretty well on the PS2 version, although they still need a bit more tuning to be "just right". But I like how I can completely navigate the UI and world of Deus Ex using a single controller, while slouched back in my chair. ..Al
