Odyssey 2 -> Atari 2600 port

As someone who has played with developing Atari home-brews and was once a big Odyssey 2 fan (I still have it and over 30 games including the muti-cart) I have to say I want to do a O2 port but the odyssey 2 natively supports many more sprites. A new 2600 kernel would need to be written but the sprite flicker may be too high a price. I am playing with the batari multi sprite kernel and have created a simple tung-in-cheek Odyssey 2 game which I'll post soon. Me and my Atari 2600 and 800 owning friends back in the 80's were hooked on UFO, Pick Ax Pete and KC Munchkin. I do think that Attack of the Timelord or Freedom Fighters would be the easiest of the more popular games. Oh yes I also fell in love with Killer Bees later that decade.

Quest for the Rings was a very fun game on the Odyssey. With a 16k cart, you could integrate the board game into the actual game, and even make it a single player option instead of the 2+ players that were required for the Odyssey version. (Although admittedly, the 2 player cooperative strategies were a large part of what made this game so fun.) With 30 Hz flicker, you could fit plenty of orcs and nightmares on the screen. The nightmares were seriously creepy. (As creepy as an 8-bit character can be.)

K.C.'s Crazy Nightmare!

 

K.C. has found himself trapped in a Atari 2600 system along with some enslaved O2 zombies! The Atari system maze is deadly, he cannot touch the maze walls, if he does his 02 code will mix with the 2600 code and destroy him!
