Vectrex numbers?

No one knows because they were made in both Hong Kong and Taiwan. Then marketed across western Europe, North America, Australia and Japan. They were designed by Smith Engineering, sold to CGE which was bought by Milton Bradley. I've been told that the Vectrex console and games were dumped at closeout prices at Toys'R'Us in 1986. Console sold for $50 and games for $10, then $5, then $0.99. If I had only known then!

Yeah I paid $50 for my Vectrex, although that was back in '84 (plus in Houston, even for a big city, most jobs didn't pay worth a crap, and rent was pretty cheap too), and I don't think I ever paid over $10 for a game. And I got Star Trek for less than a buck in '88, when they brought them out, as they were thinking about re-releasing the Vectrex back then.

Dang! Any ballpark estimates though? 250-300,000 units or something? 500,000? Thanks for the reply.
