Is this wrong?

I found about 50 video cassette cases while dumster diving behind the local Blockbuster, and I was thinking about taking some of my weathered boxed carts and snipping the boxes to fit them into the front of the cases and store the cart with the case. How horrible is this? Even if the boxes are bent, worn, etc. would it be much worse (value wise) to do this?

I am interested in hearing the concensus on this one. I have many (most) of my consoles in their original boxes. For years, it has been an idea to build shadow boxes with lights above my arcades to showcase them. That would mean destroying the box in the process. If you can't appreciate the "box" of the game, what is the good in having it? Its not like we carry these things in the car all the time or even to a friends house in a 25 year old box.

Just wondering what you all will think.

BTW, very creative idea, never thought of it myself. If you dont use the originals, could you color copy the boxfront and size it to fit?

Its really your call, how much you like the boxes intact and all. You will definitely not be able to sell the boxes again as easily as if they were in one piece. I like the idea, but I like my boxes too much to cut them up. In the end, though still you call.

Well boxed Stan

I wouldnt do it, the boxes are unique and in there own right classics, i threw away ALL my 7800 boxes except 1 and i still regret it to this day as i could have traded some of them for things i didnt have and wanted

but the decision is still up to you

good luck with what ever you decide
