Want a copy of the CGE2K1 Atari 2600 Programmer's Seminar?

Hey gang,

Well, so many folks have been leaping onto the Atari 2600 programming bandwagon, that I decided to again offer up copies of my Atari 2600 Programmer's Seminar video I taped at last year's Classic Gaming Expo. These videos are not edited and were made just for my own personal video vacation collection. If you want a dub, I’d be happy to make one for you. Here’s what I have.

+ ATARI 2600 PROGRAMMER/DEVELOPER’S KEYNOTE PRESENTATION +

This video is the full talk on programming the Atari 2600 given by Joe Decuir, one of the developers of the 2600 and programmer of that stalwart favorite "Combat." Joe’s presentation covered everything the aspiring homebrew author should know, including:

* Requirements for Program Development

* Objectives for Development

* Hardware Limitations

* 6502 Tools

* Ways to Test Game Code

* PCAE 2.2 Debug Features

* Lots of info on the TIA Register Maps

* Game Design, Architecture, and Timing

* And Display Kernels.

The presentation also featured a discussion of the newly released Cuttle Cart and its use in programming. Several homebrew authors also discussed "how they did it." The presentation came with a 6-page handout that I will send along with the video.

Running time for this video is about an hour. It will be in VHS format, SP dubs on high-quality tape in NTSC format. I will not make DVDs, CD-Rs, or PAL format videos, nor will I grab screenshots or dump video into an AVI, MPG, or other computer file. (It’s a copy of this or nothin’.)

I’m charging only $10 for a copy of this tape. Priority Mail shipping is including in that cost. (Overseas folks will need to contact me for foreign shipping.) I’m not doing this as a commercial venture and God knows this ain't for the money. I just wanted folks who may want a copy to be able to get their hands on one.

If interested, e-mail me and I’ll send my address to you. Thanks,

"Snider-man"

I'll crank one out as long as someone asks for one. Simple as that. This isn't a $ thing. We've just had a lot of interest in the 2600 for Dummies book, Andrew Davie's 2600 tutorial, etc. I just thought I'd offer this to the masses as well. When interest fades, so be it.

Actually, the seminar was quite interesting. I'm sure they'll have another at this year's CGE.

I would love a copy of it as well, it would be great to see Joe Decuir and everything let along the Atari programing information.

After all I haven't had a chance to go to the expo's and conventions yet and meet any of the original Atari people.

I have the same problem as Atari-Jess currently so I will have to get back with you later to order one.
