King Atari
Anyone know what the last released 2600 game was? I'm not talking re-releases like Pac-Man or Combat, I mean the original release. I'm thinking it was Klax, but then why do certain games have dates like 1992/93?

StanJr
Keep your eye on the "Did you Know" box on the home page. PS Lemmi's right! Answer Stan
mos6507
Steve DeFrisco said Klax was the last contract awarded by Atari for a completed 2600 game. It may have come out in europe at the same time as Sentinel, though. Now, there were other games still in the pipeline. Save Mary was started earlier than Klax, though. Save Mary had a much longer than normal development cycle (2+ years I think).

Atari Master
I really hate homebrew games. But I don't know what the last one was.
Adriana
Hate homebrew games? WHAT?! Blasphemy! Hell, most of the homebrews are better than a good chunk of the pre-1985 2600 library!

Adrian M
I could have sworn Klax or Road Runner were the final games. Didn't Secret Quest come out sometime in 1989, well before the fall of the 2600?

I'm more inclined to say that Road Runner was the final game because wasn't it the largest 2600 game ever made as sort of a last hurrah for the 2600. Tempest
I'd think the last released game was either Ikari Warriors, BMX Airmaster, or Klax. My guess is that they were all released in 1990 so which was the last released may be moot. Klax has the last part number and is PAL only so I guess it wins. For US releases it was probably BMX Airmaster. Tempest
King Atari
Yeah, Secret Quest is dated 1989. If it were the last game, then what about Xenophobe? I'm seriously not trying to throw Xeno in or anything, just that it had a release date of 1990. And, one of my favorite examples, Ghostbusters II was released in 1992 (but programmed in 1990). liveinabin
Don't let the guys who run World series baseball see this, they'll only panic Homebrews are great. Its just a pity there isn't enough money in it to warrant proper boxes etc. The boxes and manuals were half of the experience for me.
