Philflound
Why? Don't you have a regular Atari 2600 that you can use. I actually have several different models, but use a Jr to play my games. In fact I have a dead mint in box 6 switch that stays there. Collecting is fun. If you don't have another system, you should probably find one. Cropsy
First off I don't really think this is worth the effort. A replacement 2600 will probably be cheaper and easier than getting a PAL 2600 to work in the US. First thing you'll need to do is replace the power supply with something more US friendly. Alternately you could get a 240V -> 110V converter but that would be worth more than the power supply you're converting. I seriously doubt TV's or VCR's with a PAL-BG tuner are common in the US so doing the composite video mod will give you more options for connection. URL with details on the mod is below. http://www.itstoast.co.uk/atari/palav.htm If you're TV is capable of accepting a PAL signal you could plug it in directly after doing the composite video mod. However my understanding is that most US TV's won't accept a PAL signal (where as many Australian TV's will accept an NTSC signal). If you can't accept a PAL signal you'll need a coverter box to take the PAL composite signal and turn it into NTSC. Hope this helps.
