General Atarian
I was going into a thrift store, I asked the clerk (who was a 16-17 year old girl) If she had seen any atari games or gear come by lately? Her reply was,"Oh yes, we just got a whole box of them in, I'll bring the whole box right up to you" By now, my pulse starts racing and I begin to think, OH please something with a rarity of 4 or better, ....oh please, oh please, oh please be something good. She comes back with this huge box, with a price tag of $5 for the whole box, I'm thinking "JACKPOT". She says it is all yours. Open it up and it is full of 8-track tapes. Damn, it's rough to get old. ATARIPITBULL
You should have asked her if they had the new KC and the Sunshine band LP.

geogray
You know you are getting up there in ATARIAge when you mention PONG, Johnny Carson (heck, just mention Ed McMahon!) or 'LP' to just about anyone under 21 (Heck, I know a 27 year old who has no idea who Carson is!) Where is our heritage going! SIGH!
Lady Jaye
Okay, granted Atari 2600 carts are more or less the same shape than 8-track tapes... but to confuse them? That sure gave me a good laugh.

cwilkson
Heh...I got into a funk one day a few years back, and went looking for "The Best of Cream" on 8-track. No I didn't have an 8-track deck, but that was irrelevant. Anyway, I asked the girl at the counter if they had any 8 tracks, and she said "this one just came in". And handed me a bright yellow case with a protective flap and a PCB inside. Chris: "What the fsck? Is this a game cart?" It turned out to be my first Channel-F cart! Heh... -Chris

Now I know why that Video Whizball sounds so horrible in my stereo. I thought it was a sequel to Pinball Wizard.
