Springer is one of the few Atari 2600 games I'm still looking for. Nice find! My weekend finds: - A Super Joy III handheld Famicom console. It claims to have 76,000 games built in, but it really has only 76 games with 1,000 trivial variations each. Still, not a bad pick up for $2.95. - Two boxed Power Pad controllers by Chalk Board, Inc. for $1 each. The writing on the box claims that it works with the Vic 20, Commodore and Atari home computers. But I can't use either digitizer tablet because both controllers are missing the specialized cable which connects it to the computer. Anybody got a spare cable or know the specs to build one? - Two common games, which I did not have, for the Sega Master System. CIB, $3 each. black dog
The only thing I found was frustration, there is no atari stuff where I am. Nothing at the thrifts or flea markets. So I ended up going to Funcoland and bought some nes games so my weekend wouldn't be a total loss.
marillion
I got a couple responses to the ad I placed in the newspaper. Haven't checked on them yet, nor have I filtered thru all the loose games at the pawn shop a block down from me. I'm been spending most of my time on eBay, because I do know that there are no boxed 2600 anythings around here. ONce I get my eBay selling going full-tilt, I'll have more money to advertise in the surrounding areas... So, Ben, what games for the 2600 *are* you missing? There can't be but a handful, eh? Peace, Chip

Well, since you ask... I don't really count on ever finding any more 9's and 10's, because that's what dreams are for. The only games I'm really looking for are those which I don't have, were released in the U.S., and are not homebrews, prototypes or pirates. And I don't really care if I never find a single-ender cartridge if I already have the game on double-ender. That leaves the following 26 games for me to "complete" my collection: Checkers (Sears, 3) Demons to Diamonds (Sears,3) BMX Airmaster (TNT Games, 4) Othello (Sears, 4) Off the Wall (Atari, 5) I Want My Mommy (Zimag, 5) Beat Em & Eat Em (PlayAround, 5) Jungle Fever / Knight on the Town (PlayAround, 5) Philly Flasher / Cathouse Blues (PlayAround, 5) Cannon Man (Sears, 6) Dice Puzzle (Panda, 6) Excocet (Panda, 6) Scuba Diver (Panda, 6) Stunt Man (Panda, 6) Frogger the Official (Starpath, 6) Rabbit Transit (Starpath, 6) Espial (Tigervision, 6) Cosmic Corridor (Zimag, 6) Ikari Warriors (PAL) (Atari, 7) Motocross Racer (Xonox, 7) Tomarc the Barbarian (Xonox, 7) Springer (Tigervision, 7) Ram It (Telesys, 7) Survival Island (Starpath, Sword of Saros (Starpath, Smurfs Save the Day (Coleco, Anybody got one of these to trade? marillion
So, is your list complete then, meaning you haven't included the 9's and 10's you need? Since I got back into Atari collecting in the past week and a half or so, I've seen several "10's" on eBay. Are you not buying stuff from eBay to complete your collection? Have you found everything you have in the 'wild?' I'm very interested in the collecting habits and anecdotes of some of you 'supercollectors' or 'oldies' of the hobby, which is why I'm wondering if there's a chatroom somewhere that y'all shoot the breeze about this stuff... marillion
Holy crapola! I got a star! Sorry...it's Saturday night and I'm home, so there's nothing else to get excited about... Peace, Chip
Pitfall Harry
I didn't turn to eBay for games until I had accumulated about 350 different carts from searching in the wild. But I live in a thrift store wonderland and I searched A LOT harder than most! I've only purchased a tiny handful of rare games from eBay. Most of the rare games I have I either found myself or traded other rare games that I found to get them. When it comes to so-called "Super Collectors," I am but a teeny little footnote at the bottom of page 257. There are plenty of other collectors on this board whose collections dwarf mine. I only have a few 9's and 10's. Finding such extreme rarities in the wild is nearly impossible, and I cannot afford to buy them at fair market value. But I don't need to have them, as my goal is realistically set at obtaining all domestic releases of rarity 8 or less. If I find 9's and 10's...cool! But I can live without them. For now. If you would like to see the games I have, my list is posted on my website at http://members.tripod.com/~PitfallHarry/2600List.html Carts I have for trade are annotated with an "X" in the Duplicates column. If you see anything you need and have one of my 26 Wants, please let me know! Ben
hedgehog
I didn't find anything good, well I did find an old nes cart under my bed, but I don't think that counts!

King Asmo
I've got an extra copy of Espial kicking around. I've even got extra instructions as well. The game is actually brand new in the box (but not shrinkwrapped.. Tigervision games didn't come shrinkwrapped, tho, as far as I can tell). the problem is, the box is in really, really rough shape. It looks like someone was using it as a puck in a floor hockey game. The instructions, game and plastic game insert are all nice, tho. I'm sure we can work out a trade.. you always have a pile of stuff I can use. Cheers, KA

ARCZero
Las Vegas is a tough place to find stuff in the wild because a ton of people move here and they tend to sell their stuff before they get here Whenever I find anything I'm prone to pay a lot for it. Over the past couple of days I picked up an Atari 2600 with 8 common games for $8. Today I got a 5200 console (just the console) for $20. The old one I have had a broken sound chip so it was an OK deal. Anyways, the money went to Goodwill so hopefully a needy person in benefiting. I also went to the swap meet and they have eBay prices. $35 for a Colecovision console by itself, and $15 for 10 ultra common 2600 games. I passed on both. Tempest
I picked up ROB for the NES with all the attachments (so he's actually useful) for $8. I picked up some decent NES games, but no Atari stuff. I didn't even see a Combat cart this weeekend. Tempest
