TheBman80
Now I have been kicking this idea around since I started collecting arcade games about 5 months ago. I know everyone has been saying that the arcade is dying off, but I really think the right mix of new and old could make it. I would like to go more 80's to mid 90's for the most part. In the past 5 months I have acquired these games.. Uprights Ninja Gaiden After Burner Battle Zone (needs a monitor) Asteroids Deluxe Ninja Turtles (Use to be Defender and will be turned back into one) Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey (needs a new hard drive) Neo Geo 4 slot (with Metal slug 2 & other fighters I don't care for) Boards Cadash Shuuz (Horse shoes) Golden Axe (missing top board) Rampage & Rampage World tour with a control panel So far that’s what I got and there is so much more I plan to get. What else would you Like/Not like to see in an arcade?
supercat
So far that’s what I got and there is so much more I plan to get. What else would you Like/Not like to see in an arcade? 1005698 I think some of the multi-game machines seem quite practical. Some do a rather bad job of trying to put games with ill-fated control setups (doing Centipede and Millipede in the same cab is fine, but Missile Command needs a different cabinet). I wonder if there's enough of a supply of vectorscan monitors in a room somewhere to make a couple vector-game multi-cabinets (one for monochrome; one for color) workable? BTW, one thing I've never seen in a multi-cabinet that I think would add a wonderful touch: a couple of rolling-curtain backgrounds behind a half-silvered 45-degree mirror that shows the main game screen. This would allow games like Space Invaders to be played as they're really supposed to be.

I really want to stay form the really generic fighting games I would have some but I wouldn’t let it rule the arcade. They are so generic I would rather have the entire metal Slug series in a few neo geo cabinets they are quarter eaters but they are really fun. I would also really like to have a section just for Vectors like Asteroids and Star wars, Battle Zone but a multi vector would be the greatest thing ever if one could pull it off. supercat
Pins:High Speed Joust Indiana Jones Revenge From Mars Teminator 2 Black Knight Funhouse 1005738 Joust pinball? Not familiar with it. Other pinball choices I'd like to see would be Jurassic Park, Taxi (Marilyn version), and Black Knight 2000 (been ages since I've seen the original, but the sequel was cool in its own right). Pin-Bot was great, but when I found a place that had one in 1994 I maxed out the credits and got bored. The Vortex cheat does help one get some nice scores, though. Ever see a pinball game called "Cybernaut"(sp?) Way too easy (maxed the credits on that one in a single game) but it had one of the trickiest skill shots I've ever seen. Awarded special if successful, but very hard.

I think to make it work, you'd have to add some billiards, and a room with PC's, Xbox, PS2's etc. for rent and a lan for the lan party crowd. Regular tournaments and events also bring in the cash. Blackjack
OK, you asked for it....... First of all I'd have a seperate room for SERIOUSLY Old Schoolers like myself. Patrons would pay an entrance fee for this room and have to be a minimum age or be accompanied by a taser wielding child hater. 1962 Williams Road Racer 1957 United Jumbo Bowling Alley I used to play this one with my dad while drinking "choc cola" at the family room of a bar called the Stucco House. I know there are few somewhat successful ones operating. I have links somewhere and will dig them up. I also contacted the owner of one to see just how business was. He told me he was barely getting by. In my utopian world where an old school arcade would fly, my list would be: Defender Robotron Gauntlet Crystal Castles Pole Position Star Wars Tron Reactor Satan's Hollow Frogger Warlords Phoenix that would keep me busy for quite a while ~telengard
yuppicide
Here's what you should do: This guy collects pinballs and has turned his personal collection into an arcade. He's open from 7pm-10pm and it's $10 for free play the whole night. He also can host birthday parties. http://www.pinballparlor.com Now for some games I'd like in my arcade: Mappy Kangaroo Championship Sprint Badlands Make Trax Indiana Jones Sinistar Omni River Patrol Black Tiger Haunted Castle (looks just like Castlevania) Quiz Dragons Gals Panic Qix Ghosts N Goblins Ghouls N Ghosts Rabbit Punch Gauntlet II Domino Man Every Mr. Do! series Tempest Wacko .. hmm was Mr. Driller ever an arcade game?! If so I want it. Pinballs: Black Knight Black Knight 2000 Pinball 2000 Bad Cats Haunted House There's a lot more, but I'm too tired to let my list go on for now..
