RickHarrisMaine
My rarest so far is Montezuma's Revenge. I go to a flea sometimes and do whatever I can to strip them of their rarities for 2 bucks apiece. I would gladly tell them that they have something rare if they weren't such money-grubbing old hags, selling NES games for $12 apiece, no matter what they are, and O2 games for $5 apiece. Pipster
I posted these finds last July i think and din't hear anything so thought nothing more of them. I'd have no problems at all with sending them on to be looked at, i'm in the UK though so it might take a while. The annoying thing is that the bloke i got them off had others but as i picked them out straight away from all his carts he held them back!! The other two were Pac-man and Stellar Track with 'NTSC' written on the label and he got them from the marketing manger (/director?) for Atari in the UK in the early '80's. . Strange what you can find. Edited April 26, 2006 by Pipster
A.J. Franzman
Not protos i'm afraid, 'Submarine Commander' and 'Yars Rebvenge' lab loaners Lab loaners are often pre-release ROM versions, also known as prototypes. Just because it doesn't say "prototype", doesn't mean it isn't.

TheHoboInYourRoom
The AtariAge rarity guide is a good place to start. I would imagine you're welcome to put your own spin on the word, if you'd like. I knew about the guide already, but I've noticed sometimes that some collectors think "Rare" isn't actually rare . But yeah, the rarest I have are two R5's (Raft Rider and Submarine Commander) and 12 R4's (Krull, Pitfall II, Bridge, Robot Tank, Stellar Track, Bermuda Triangle, Squeeze Box, Sub Scan, California Games, Gangster Alley, Survival Run, and Racquetball). AtariRx
Although not my rarest find ever, I once got a Mr. Do!'s Castle for free at a video game store. It was the only 2600 game they had and it was being used to hold up a small display shelf in place of a missing a leg. They couldn't believe I wanted it. (I think it was Game Depot in Enfield, CT, while I was in college.) Also for $1 or less: Q*Bert's Qubes (x2), Crazy Climber (x2), WaterWorld (w/man&comic), CIB Ram-It...... and many more........... Ahhhh, the glory days of thrifts and fleas having piles of Atari games to rumage through.
rockman_x_2002
My own personal rarest find, Earth Dies Screaming for $1 at a flea market. Cart only, but in good shape. The next closest find is a "Promo only" 2600 with about 20 common carts (1 nonworking Pitfall!) for about $20. Hardly rare, but it's my rarest finds thus far. shadow460
Rarest 2600 games I found in the wild were Ghost Manor (single end) and Sea Hawk for about 25 cents each. I also found a Sears pic Night Driver in the wild for a buck (it's near mint condition) and I found Sears pix of Baseball and Gunslinger the other day. Those were like $2.50 each. MattyXB
Miner 2049er Volume II complete, price was 10,- DM I think. But this was for a long time ago. Found no Atari 2600 VCS games in the wild anymore since years. But have not much time for fleamarktes too.
bfloatarijunkie
when I was in high school, a classmate sold me a bunch of games, and among them was Chase the Chuckwagon.

Carey85
I found a copy of Tooth Protectors with instructions in an Atari 2600 lot with 25 games at Goodwill yesterday... Had to pay $30 to walk out the door with the goods, though
Spud
Death Trap for 99 cents at my favorite thrift store. I think I was the only one that knew about that store as far as collectors, it was out in a new development area in far north Dallas, I almost always found 5 or so decent games a week there back in the day (1992-93ish). My best find for all systems was at the same place. I walked in one day went to the isle where the carts were and mixed in there were 11 Vectrex games all 99 cents each. Just the carts but that ok. I miss those days.
