Adrian M
Bionic Commando is one of the best NES games out there. If you have the patience and interest, try the Dragon Warrior games. Shooters are well represented. Life Force, Starship Hector, Star Soldier, and the almighty ZANAC are great! My recommendation...go to a Funcoland or Gamestop store. Just peruse through the great selection of inexpensive loose carts. You're bound to find something that will catch your interest.

fmctm1sw
Just kind of depends what you like. I never really like "kick and punch" games. I like mostly sports and "brain" games. Stuff with lots of numbers. Tecmo Super Bowl and Uncharted Waters are two of my favorites....

goatdan
Metriod is excellent. Super Mario Bros. 3 is perhaps the best 2D side-scrolling game ever. It was the first game that I ever bought new on the day of release, and it is the only game that I have never regretted buying new. It all depends on what you're into, I suppose. I also really like Maniac Mansion and Back To The Future 2 & 3. If you're looking to buy games, might I suggest the lovely store beneath my signature? I promise (and others can attest) that they've got great service and good prices!
KAZ
I'll keep this simple 1. Mega Man 2 2. Double Dribble 3. Super Mario Brothers 2 and 3 4. Excitebike 5. Mike Tyson's Punchout 6. Donkey Kong Classics 7. Racket Attack (some say this game is horrible, but don't listen to them) 8. Battle Chess 9. Blaster Master (best intro for a Nintendo game) 10. Ice Climber (just a game that Nintendo is well known for) Honorable Mention: Chris Evert/Ivan Lendl Top Player's Tennis I'm sorry, I had to put this one in because you can spend hours and hours creating "personaes" with the rating values, and can basically create custom tennis players, very fun. I have virtually every single rom for Nintendo, so I speak with some authority I suppose on the issue of what's good and not. I own a Nintendo too (of course) If you go with these 10 games, you will not fail! If you get sick of one (unlikely) just move on to the next one. You can go on like this forever. StanJr
I like adventure games. I cannot believe no one listed Final Fantasy!!! I also recommend: Jackie Chan's Action Kung-Fu (Its simple, silly, and loads of fun!) NEStan
Uncle Duke
(Thinking: Im gonna be hated for this one, ) Boo! Metroid Sucks! I dont know how many they made, but I know I have the first one and I hate it. Its too hard, annoying, frustrating, and you get hit like, twice and you die... But on to the games I love; MEGA-MAN MEGA-MAN II MEGA-MAN III MEGA-MAN IV MEGA-MAN V MEGA-MAN VI Super Mario Brothers Super Mario Brothers 2 Super Mario Brothers 3 Friday the 13th Double Dribble Contra Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Back to the Future II/III Thats all I can think of right now, but just a strange little fact here; Out of all the games Ive played, for Atari 2600 down through Dreamcast and about everything in between. Friday the 13th for NES is probably the freakiest game Ive ever played... Yeah I know its got NES graphics but the music, and how Jason Voorhees pops up all over the place.. whew... I cant sit down to play it. My heart races still.

goatdan
(Thinking: Im gonna be hated for this one, )Boo! Metroid Sucks! Not hated. Just thought of as the oddball Back to the Future II/III YESSSSSSSSS! That game is incredible! Take a solid platformer, throw in a bunch of minigames and make the game really hard to navigate, but easy to continue! I have had my Nintendo on with this game in it for HOURS. I once collected all but three things, but then I gave up. Awesome, awesome game though. Thats all I can think of right now, but just a strange little fact here; Out of all the games Ive played, for Atari 2600 down through Dreamcast and about everything in between. Friday the 13th for NES is probably the freakiest game Ive ever played... Yeah I know its got NES graphics but the music, and how Jason Voorhees pops up all over the place.. whew... I cant sit down to play it. My heart races still. My freakiest game award goes to Alien Vs. Predator for the Jaguar. I would always turn off the display and turn up the sound loud for full effect. Then I would sit in the basement at night playing the game. After flipping off the couch onto the floor twice because of it, I turned it off and haven't been able to talk myself into playing it since...
