Atari Anthology Question (PS2)

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping some of you out there own this game for the PS2. I am thinking of getting it but have one question that I can seem to find in reviews on Amazon and other places I have looked around. My question is, is the a high score board for the games? I mean, is there a place to enter initials or something for high scores.

If you have the Namco Museum 50th Anniversary, you know what I mean about the game keeping track of your high scores with the memory card.

Any info? Thanks a lot! :)

I have it for pc and gba. Thinking about ps2 just because it's so cheap.

Don't know about high scores on ps2, but make sure it has demon attack and atlantis (sadly gba does not). I almost bought it from someone on ebay, and they looked on the box and said it did not list either of these games- but people around here have ps2 AA's, and their's DO have the imagic titles. Maybe some have it some don't.

I went to the atari website and it lists all of the games that are on the Atari Anthology for the PS2 and XBOX but still, I can't find anywhere that lists if high scores are savable and if so, is their a list of scores where you can input your initials? My brother and I like to compete and it would be nice to know before I make the purchase. At any rate, if anyone knows, please let me know.

See no demon attack listed there- but more than one person who has that game here say it's on there:

"...but I know for a 100% fact that game is in the PS2 Anthology. I have it running at my desk right now and played it just yesterday." gamerj

One other member (skunkworx) verified this by his copy. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=88659

I'd ask onc of those guys, since they have the ps2 version.

It doesn't save high scores or anything.

I don't think you can even get patches or anything for it, I matched all three requirements for Pitfall 2 and didn't unlock any.

Anybody know what is unlockable on this game?

And yeah, Deamon Attack and Atlantis is on my copy.

The arcade games that featured high score list in their original form still do and the scores are saved. But the 2600 titles don't.

And like was just said, Activision Anthology and Atari Anthology are two different games. No Activision titles on Atari Anthology.

I wonder why they randomly appended "Atari" to these game titles...

Not really, but I remember your old post where it's been explained to you before what games were on the PS2 Activision Anthology, such as the inclusion of Demon Attack. :)

Haven't seen any other confusion about it. The manual has a complete game list, reviews at popular sites such as IGN have got it right, and the back of the DVD case clearly states that there are more titles in it. There just wasn't room on the case for a complete list. Too many titles, so they just provided a summary.

Yeah, and if you had read this whole thread lol, I had already linked that thread and their answers for the original poster. And now you are aware of that and this thread. So yeah, really.

As Atariboy pointed out Atari Anthology (not to be confused with Activision Anthology) does save high score on most of the arcade games that have a high score feature. Pong doesn't have a high score feature, and Battlezone high scores aren't saved due to a bug, but all of the other arcade games save the high scores.

Yes, Taito Legends saves the high scores on the arcade titles. I think every arcade collection that features arcade titles that had a high score table back when they were originally released do have the feature on the PS2/Xbox/GC.

Not sure how you thought Activision Anthology was so much better, though I do prefer the interface and I liked the inclusion of Activision television commercials. THe emulation of 2600 titles seemed superior to me on Atari Anthology.
