Inky
Seeing as PC floppy drives are a dime a dozen, and ST floppy drives are hard to find cheaply, could an ST operate with a standard PC drive? I remember some formatting programs did allow you to format PC floppies...
sonnenhexer
The format is the same, both double sided double density 720k, but the connections. You have to convert the connector for the ST, have you a plan on what Pin what signal is? Me not, sorry. Michael

sonnenhexer
I searched the web with google and found this page with wiring diagrams from Atari computers (1040 STe/STFM/Falcon/Mega ST/Mega STe/Jaguar) and the monitors SM 124 and SC 1224. Hope this helps a little bit.
Gaiyan
I think you can just pop in any PC drive as long as you change the drive from DS1 to DS0. Newer drives have a solder bridge on DS1 that you have to remove and solder the gap between DS0. Some drives have jumpers. Joshua.
Mindfield
I think you have to be careful what mech you put in there, as some can't handle extended (820k 82/10/2) formats, reading or writing.
