Wii first. I'll snag that one out of the gate and whether it flies or falls.... We'll see. Truth is though, I don't really care one way or the other as long as I have it. :)

PS3, I think even if I really wanted it, I wouldn't be able to get it with the shortages. I do want one (not hyper-enthusiastically though), so I probably realistically expect maybe sometime next yearish or so when it hopefully has a nice library of games.

I look forward to getting a Wii.

I'd love to get a Wii, but having missed out on the preorders I'm skeptical. I'm hoping my family can help me get one for Christmas, or that I can somehow swipe one off the shelf.

Today I saw an interview with the Prez of Nintendo North America. He said they will have approximately 6 million units worldwide and about half of them in the US.

I'm still pretty darned content with my Xbox.

I don't see the major advantage. The way I look at it, the jump from a 2600 to a 5200 allowed you to do things that the 2600 just couldn't do. Likewise the jump from a 5200 to a NES, a NES to a Genesis, a Genesis to a PS-1, a PS-1 to an Xbox. There was a clear step up in ability.

This is more of an evolutionary thing. Same type of games, same type of graphics, just "better"... and by better, another incremental step toward photo-realstic 3D graphics.

Maybe if someone gets me hooked on a killer app on one console or the other... but I don't see it. I see these as being another platform full of driving games, 3D platformers, and FPSers.

Most current system I play frequently is the Atari Jaguar.

I have a GameCube and PS1, but rarely play those.

Good to hear the Wii is compatible with GameCube games though, and would like to know if the PS3 is backwards compatible. That would rule if so. :)

I didn't "need" a 360 when I bought one this time last year, but I got one anyway. I don't get to play it much as it is, and when I do, it's mostly Arcade games (see http://www.360voice.com/blog.asp?tag=flojomojo for the sad story). Adding yet another platform is not something I want to do ... especially at the prices and limited availability for these new machines.
