Oppressor
I get that, but I still don't get why you yammer on about it - nearly a decade later... Dude, we're on a forum where people still argue about 2600 Pac-Man. OK, I didn't know your life was that empty. I so hope that Fake Dr. Smart fills your existence with purpose again someday.
3DOKid
I think the Jag needs legendary games - BS fills that role nicely. Most people, and I've never played it, suggest that Battle Sphere at worst is 'good'. Perhaps a little, in some peoples eyes, over-hyped. But, IMHO, that is a good thing. Why? 5 years in the making? Multi-jag link-up? Limited supply? On a commercial failure of a console? Developers battling the odds against adversity? Good grief chaps - it's what gaming legends are made of surely? So what if its $500? The legend is free right? I think Nintendo and the like would chew off their privates for a game like this - why? It's the John Wayne of games, the Dick Whittington of games, it's a bonafied legend - plain and simple. It's make Mario look like nancy boy, Sonic for the kiddies, etc... it's mans-man of game. It's what the world needs. The Jags remembered for what? AvP? Tempest 2000? Checkered Flag? Oh and the ultra rare, multijag space battler Battle Sphere. If I had a copy - i'd cling on to for ever. I'd look at the box a couple of times year, smile like an idiot and put it back in the cupboard.

3DOKid
The Jags remembered for what? Being Atari's last dismal failure? Precisely - it needs Battle Sphere! (In addition I remember the Jaguar "Fondly" - not just as a failure!) Edited January 13, 2007 by 3DOKid

I'd look at the box a couple of times year, smile like an idiot and put it back in the cupboard. It's just unfortunate that so many Jag fans can't get a copy because of the price it demands... And if I had a copy, I'd have to play it!
kevincal
The Jags remembered for what? Being Atari's last dismal failure? I wouldn't call it a dismal failure...It lasted over 2 years with a decent fanbase. And it has one, if not the best fanbase out of all of the "dead" systems... Scott, that whooshing sound was you competely missing my point that practically the sole purpose of this site to talk about old games... most of them being much, much older than BattleSphere. If you want people to talk about something newer, start work on a new space combat game. They seem to be all the rage in the indie game dev scene these days. OMG No wonder you guys hate TBird and Gorf so much! All that racket they raise about new jaguar games and technology puts the pooper on your panty bunching poutfests about the past. Thanks for straightening me out on that one! Here, I'll even make friendly: That Club Drive sure is teh suck!
