Nukey Shay
ET for the 8-bit is a totally different game from the VCS. There are multiple skill levels to choose from...the higher the skill level is, the more objects Elliot will need to find to build ET's phone (and they also need to be the correct color). You start at Elliot's house, standing on the driveway. Don't forget this location, as all parts of the phone must be returned here. You must travel around the neighborhood and pick up pieces of the phone you need. If you hold down the button when standing still, the phone pieces you need will be shown. Don't hold down the button too long, since ET's lifespan goes down much faster when viewing this screen. If you are moving when you press the button, Elliot will run instead of walking. You can't see phone pieces when running though, so you need to use this option only when you are in a hurry. You will see FBI agents (blue) and scientists (green) running around. Both will chase you if you are spotted. If you happen to be holding a piece of the phone, they will take it if they touch you (which means you will have to find it again). If you can reach your driveway before this happens, press the button to subtract that item from the "required items" screen. If the phone piece is the wrong one or the wrong color, nothing will change. Do not touch your house when doing this...stay on the driveway as even as you can. Once you have found all of the phone pieces and brought them back to your driveway, you will hear ET's voice. Now, YOU are ET, and must find the landing pad for your ship while avoiding the bad guys. This pad is in a clearing in the forest (near the upper-left part of the map). Touch the pad and your ship will arrive.
Goochman
Funny, folkshated 2600 ET so much I think any ET game must be bad - I actually didnt mind this game and played it a few times on the various skill settings. Maybe it was the voice, Maybe it was the 'maze' look like Get Away, who knows but this one seemed average vs terrible to me.
