  1. Ah, thanks for the info. Now, I know I may have came off as being a bit naive on what exactly you had in mind with this product. It's just that I really am in dire straights. Saving up to go to the MGC next year is at the top of my list, and all these custom build jobs got me looking into the local DIY CNC/Replication system projects in recent years (For example, RepRap!) This basically got me thinking about the possibilities of simplifying the production of homebrew projects on the Atariage communities' part, as well as allowing production costs of multicarts being simplified by simply supplying people with affordable schematics and parts lists to build their own multicarts. This sort of movement is clearly in its infancy, but seeing as how the reprap system can be easily built, and with enough know-how and being able to pull basic parts together, one could feasibly build a good replication/cnc system with which to make PCB cartridges on their own. Basically, I was just wondering if with this in mind, you'd ever imagine supplying the instructions to do so, for a slightly more accessible fee. A bit of irony there: I bought this system, with the cartridge door long gone.
  2. Hello, sorry to bring this back from the dead, but is there any possibility of getting ahold of another one of these custom flashcarts. Also, are the schematics proprietary, or was the creator (Lynxman) planning on releasing the schematics of the pcb? I brought this topic out of the grave, as I recently uncovered a slightly damaged (But fully working) Lynx model 1 I got at Goodwill for 4-5 dollars (A bargain, as I've seen from the sales on eBay), and I've been a bit tight on cash to be able to afford any games beyond one every few paychecks. As a longtime Atari fan, I would just like to be able to put this great system to use.
  3. Thanx.. your too kind... BTW, how do I make the switches sparkly clean again?
  4. thats cool, have one of them "darth vader"s myself, though I got an even better deal on my light sixer on saturday... Click for more..
  5. Thanx everybody! I'll post some pictures of anything I get later... Until then stay cool. (or warm, considering that winter is near and its been cold outside. )
  6. Tell us your secrets... not. But still, thats nothing to be indifferent about. I hope one day my collection of Atari 2600 games can be THAT big. G' job!
  7. Two words:Armor All Two more words: cooking oil. (On the plastic case only!!!!) PS. Just a little goes along ways This all very nice, but I already know how to make it sparkling clean. I'm just asking how you clean out the connector port where the cartridges go (the 9 pin connector).
  8. Hey, YOU wouldn't have any solutions to my questions? Would'ja?
  9. No, it was a dead relatives, they were indifferent. ... Still, good deal tho! TIP: be sure to shop at rummage sales on Saturdays, people are less likely to make u fork over lots of cash. And act indifferent, as if you could care less whether you got it or not. Question Hour Also, there seems to be white corrosion on the six switches, any idea of how to get those "sparkling" again? And I've yet to learn how you clean the contacts in the cartridge port. Any help on that as well?
  10. I know, the good condition colecotops sweetens the deal, and the GENERIC case which was made specially for ataris works well. it would be great, however, if i could find my paddles to play pong and breakout.
  11. Wow, you must be on acid to reply that fast. Yeah, This puppy was obviously owned by your run of the mill early 80's gamer. Asteroids, Freeway, Declathon, air sea battle, combat, video pinball & olympics, you know, the works. PS: thats solaris in the screen; i owned that prior to me purchasing this system. PPS: I do hate using forums, they aren't very good for getting quick updates, but you were fast, thanx. PPPS: I spent another dollar on two coleco tabletops: donkey kong and galaxian. PPPPS: these PS's are your friend, my friend. Wow, just turned into McCain alluva sudden.
  12. I went to rummage sales on sat. and looky what I got... A 2nd model 6-switch Atari VCS. I know watcher sayin: wasn't that a hefty price? 10, 20, possible 40 bucks? nope, half off, it cost $1 DOLLAR with a carrying case, power brick, and half a dozen games. I know economy sucks already, so if this was the 1930's, that would've been overkill... and in regards to your question: does it work? yes, the puppy is in good condition; a few bad eggs here and there, but my standard Atari games work well. Don't believe me? Here: (ignore that red line to the left, thats my mini-tvs fancy channel indicator. annoying, but it goes a away after a few secs.) Instead of acting all snooty about it (which I have, sry ), I'm just asking straight up: deal or bad deal? (all signs ignore the latter, probably)
  13. Cool. The funny thing is that this game had been at the auction mall since a couple years ago (as the owners told me) so I guess it was wise to grab it while it was still hot. (p.s: its a normal cartridge, not the handle variety, if you cant tell from the picture, which I cant see why somebody wouldn't. ) I played the rom for Elevator's amiss and it was pretty fun, so maybe when I'm not short of cash, I'll get that.
  14. Yesterday, I went thrift shopping and picked up alot of atari 2600 games along the way. 1. Barnstorming: The seller said it's "As-Is" so I'm not quite sure if it will even work. $0.50 2. Keystone Kapers: Same seller. $0.50 3. E.T. The Extra Terrestrial: something compelled me to get this. That, and the owner was so sick of the game he just let me take it free of charge. Priceless. My open cartridge collection is As-Is, with such classics like: Combat (Picture) Omega Race Bezerk (Which sounds like its broken so I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a much better conditioned one) Gorf Pac-Man Video Pinball and there is more, I just cant think of it off the top of my head. Here are the two games I posted on earlier.. (Sorry, my camera sucks!) Adventures of Tron isn't in too bad of condition, and the manual looks okay. On the other hand, Lock 'n' Chase looks great minus the manual. And I picked up this bad boy at a antique mall.. Its in great condition, the box looks new compared to my other boxed games from 82. The manual is clean, crisp, and smells just like the machine it was processed out of years ago. And, you cant see it very well, but there is even an original coupon to have a shirt shipped in to an original owner when it was still promoted back then. The cartridge looks great, but I see a little hue of discoloration on it. ignoring the fact of the bad camera, what do you guys think?
  15. Cool, thanx! they are sitting right in front of me and havent moved much, I'll see what I'll do with them.
