  1. I did indeed! I take it that your my Secret Santa so double thanks! I got today a tin of mixed British candies.
  2. Glad it got there! I mailed that 3 weeks ago and was worried it wouldn't make it before Christmas.
  3. The upgrade was also painless for me also. The e-mail that My Arcade sent out includes a link to the video giving step by step instructions on how to do it. Here's the major things that got updated, for those who might have been on the fence of buying one: WHAT'S NEW: Game instructions added for each Atari game. Updated game list menu navigation. Aspect ratio updated for certain Atari arcade games. Enhancements for microSD card. FAQ added to the SETTINGS menu. BUG FIXES: Optimization for improved performance. Audio now plays through left and right speakers. FACTORY RESET removes games from the RECENT tab. In addition, these were also updated: Now has support for SNES games! It's POSSIBLE support for other systems was added as well Able to access your microSD card from the main menu I'm not sure what optimizations were done as far as increased performance Also please note that instructions were only added for the Atari games -- the bonus games still do not have them.
  4. Package mailed out today to my Secret Santa! I will say that my package is going to someone outside the US, so along with the 'main' gift I looked up foods and candies that were not sold in their country. Upon finding Moon Pies were only sold in the US, I knew right away what else to include in the box.
  5. Well damn, I already got my Secret Santa package! I had just ordered the main item for MY Secret Santa off Ebay today and when I came back to the apartment after spending a few days with Mom I found three packages waiting for me, all from Amazon. Since I had BOUGHT 3 things I tore into all of them -- and discovered one of the packages was stuff my Secret Santa had sent directly to me. I would have at least waited till after Thanksgiving to open had I known. LOL I got a XBox One controller (good all around controller and also useable with the Gamestation Pro) and a variety package of British candies. Sadly the person didn't indicate their name or username so I have no idea who to thank, but many thanks! I'll ship mine out once I get my EBay order.
  6. Okay, I admit that I really like the GSP, but I can point out the pro's and con's from my eariler review: PRO'S: Great plug and play system, if you just want to use it Good joysticks that include a paddle and the ability to play games on several systems. System looks nice, most games have save support, good selection of games which include a bunch of Piko Interactive ported and new 8 bit/16 bit games Good price CONS'S: Adding additional games can be hit or miss and has some issues, and as of now the system can't be updated or hacked Paddle control is good but not AS precise as dedicated paddle. You need a third party controller with a D-Pad to play many of the Piko games Systems that people have confirmed they have added games for: NES, Genesis, Game Boy (all flavors), all Atari systems minus Jaguar, Game Gear (and I THINK I saw Lynx also?) Systems people can not get to work: SNES, N64, Playstation, Staturn The Flashback system (and the stand alone Atari 50th Anniversary Collection) are also very good, but I don't think it's fair to compare those to the GSP. I think the MUCH better comparison would be with the GSP and the upcoming Atari 2600+. It looks like you can do a lot more hacking/modding on that system (which is more in line to the interest of people here on the site) but you pay more money for it. It really just comes down to what you want of the GSP and what you plan to do with it.
  7. That's a fair viewpoint. I've always said from the start that as far as a PURE Plug and Play goes the GBP is the best of the crop I've owned and played. If you just want to give the system to a old person who grew up with these games and just wants to relieve the past, you can't go wrong with this. It seems most issues people are having with the system comes from trying to hack or mod it -- which I'm not doing with mine. Not that I won't at some point, I'm sure, but I have no interest or need to doing so now. I think for hacking/modding, the upcoming 2600+ will be better suited for that, as long as you don't mind paying the higher price point.
  8. I will still defend the GSP as being a very good plug and play. I have no reason to mod mine, though, as I have a MAME cab and an emulation system for all of the other games. The joysticks are good, the bonus games are a nuice touch, and it's cheaper then the 2600+.
  9. I totally agree they should have included manuals with the games on the GBP. Or at the LEAST more detailed instructions on how to play the game. I've had to look some up on the net cause I didn't know how to play or what the controls were. It just feels like a very cheap plug and play. I still think it's a GOOD plug and play, but I question if 'we' are the main market for it. However, the controllers are very good, it's a very hackable system, and it makes for a cheap emulation system.
  10. I've had no lag at all using the GSP joysticks via USB cable. Make sure your TV is set to Game Mode and try using a different TV and/or different cable. The paddle control is....fine. It's not as perfect as say using paddles would be, but I can play every paddle game well enough with them. Some games allow you to change the sensitivity settings.
  11. Thanks for the post! I posted a little above the result of controllers tried with the systems and four we confirmed DO work. Also...firmware update? Say what? Is there an update for the GBP? How do we even apply it?
  12. I recall this got talked about in this thread, somewhere. As I recall correctly you may have to adjust the sound settings on your TV. My GSP plays fine on my TV on both sides.
  13. I can only report on the 2 of the 4 controllers I listed in my last post -- The 8bitdo controller and the PS4 controller -- and they are connected via wire. With the TV in game mode I get NO lag at all. And I even used the system on another TV set to confirm.
  14. Sorry for yet another post -- I thought I'd try to make things more clear. Between the controllers I have myself, and the help of others here, I can confirm the following third party controllers DO work with the Gamestation Pro, and they will be listed in order of price: Microsoft XBox Elite 2 Controller - $105 https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Elite-Wireless-Controller-Controllers/dp/B0BS1J43PW/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3IYDBIA9SF5VI&keywords=xbox%2Belite%2B2%2Bcontroller&qid=1699285394&s=videogames&sprefix=xbox%2Belite%2Cvideogames%2C93&sr=1-5&th=1 Microsoft XBox S Controller - $50 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BQ0VP0G/?coliid=I1RH7ZG2DTFLFB&colid=2JU4ZF3HHZBSO&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1 Sony PS4 Controller - $50 https://www.amazon.com/Sony-Playstation-DUALSHOCK-Wireless-Controller/dp/B07PJ1H91G/ref=sr_1_1?crid=RT9GQZ0LHZKF&keywords=playstation+4+controller&qid=1699285512&refinements=p_89%3ASony&rnid=2528832011&s=videogames&sprefix=playstation+4%2Cvideogames%2C103&sr=1-1 8bitdo Pro 2 Controller - $40 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XY86472?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Some notes: 1) All these controllers (except the last) are official first party controllers, and prices given are for refurbished units. In my experience, they work great, but if you want new, expect to pay about $10-20 more. 2) The GSP does NOT have Bluetooth support - therefore all these controllers MUST be used in wired mode. If you do not already have one, I STRONGLY suggest getting a 10-12 foot USB-C cable along with the controller. (Note you need a cable with Male (the plug) ends on BOTH ends - or get an adapter also.) 3) The 8bitdo Pro 2 controller is the one I really like as it can be used with a number of other devices also - it works great with my Steam Deck, Switch, PC, phone, and even MAME cab. 4) Many third party PS4/XBox controllers, and the Atari Modern Controller, are confirmed NOT to work with the GSP. If anyone else finds any more working controllers, please share!
