This is an awesome development. I like it. I can't wait, either. Cool! Thanks for posting this. :)

#4156432 How to clean your connectors

Yes! Your Jag deserves the gold treatment. :)
DeOxit should be easy to find in the US as I think it is a US product.
I got mine from ebay.
It'll last you for years as well.

Agreed. The company that sell the DeOxit, whose website I found, are located in the US state of California. Music to my ears. I might buy a kit. I want my Jag to purr longer and better. So, it isn't expensive. I want to try it. :)

I guess they have it on their website sold in US dollars, and I just did a Google search on it. Sorry. Novice question. I was just curious. Thanks anyway for the great guide. I will try it. :D

Then it can fi ally match its "Multimedia" name?

Agreed. That it would. :)

Quite possibly a 7800 SD cart. It would be a nice break after the Jaguar... :)

I've also got a cheap UltraSatan type device on my mind as well. The cartridge on the ST isn't very useful, sadly.

Oh. That's too bad. Well, it did not hurt to suggest, I guess. I did not know that the ST cartridge port was not useful. Well, if you do create something like UltraSatan, I might be interested in buying it. Thanks.

SainT, you phukkin' rock, man.  :)

What's your encore after you finish this? Tackling a 7800 SD Cart Adapter, you say???  :)

I don't think anyone's suggested this before, but an ST Cart SD Adapter could be interesting. There've been some games ported to Cart format in the past. It would certainly load faster than a Gotek and might be less expensive than an UltraSatan...

Now, that would show promise, and we would not need to modify our STs! Good idea. :)

It's really great that everything is moving along well for you, SainT. I know that are things that still need work. Keep up the great work. Thanks. :)

#4104423 Tracking - Where to start?

Posted by jericho_21 on Sun Sep 2, 2018 7:57 PM

Concerning RMT, it may have a detailed help, but i am wondering if there are specific tutorials on how to create music on Raster Music Tracker. Is there a site I can look at to find tutorials on this app? Or is there anything I can look at to learn how to use it? Thanks.

UPDATE: Sorry, as Ibanez asked that already. I did not see this earlier on. But, really, are there any tutorial videos and sites for RMT? I guess it would also help if I learned music as well. Thanks again.

Sounds like a good time to stay indoors and play on an Atari.

In many ways, it does. :D

I'm in Minnesota, we had a massive snowstorm in April this year. Can go from 80 degrees to 40 degrees, back to 80 degrees in a few days in the spring and the fall.

Hey, Pink! Same here! I live about forty miles from Saint Paul. It's true, too. The fluctuations in temperature can be extreme. Wait until the Alberta Clipper and Siberian Express come in the winter time. You know that those weather patterns bring bitter cold. I remember that April snowstorm, too. How could I forget? Fifty-eight hours long, full of snow! Non-stop! It gets crazy here in winter. :)

I've actually been alright the last month or two, which is the longest spell of feeling alright I've had in a long time. :)

What's been delaying things currently is the good weather here in the UK! I have quite a few outdoor projects also on the go (a "garden room", ie. retro hardware man cave, being the biggest) which are taking priority while the weather (and health) is making it possible.

I didn't plan on taking this long a break from the JagSD... but then, this is the best summer we've had in at least 10 years... according to records, the hottest prolonged weather in 40+ years! We even had a decent winter with proper snow drifts and everything. I can only hope this is the start of having proper seasons again after the seemingly endless cold rainy weather we've been having.

And as far as progress goes....

The ROM emulation side of things is complete bar testing.

I have a simple FLASH updating system in place for updating the cart menu / system flash over USB as well as debug commands such as rebooting the Jaguar from the command prompt.

Partial CDROM emulation is working. I have some bizarre problems with stability of the RISC chips -- I need to investigate this further, also testing on different Jaguars to see if I can narrow the issue down any further. This has been put on the back burner until the base ROM emulation has been finished with boot menu etc.

Priority currently is finishing off updating of the CPLD (custom chip) and Microcontroller firmware from the Jaguar / USB and getting a tidy menu system working for ROM / CD selection and booting.

Well, at least you are progressing steadily, SainT, and that is a good thing. Before, there were problems, as I understood it with the CD BIOS. I figured that the CD-ROM emulation would be improved over time. It just takes time, and I had faith in that. Thanks for your efforts, especially with the health problem that you are overcoming. I know that has been a setback, and I hope it gets better for you. Thanks for letting me share and I wish the best for this project. It seems to be coming to fruition slowly but nicely. :)

#3996345 KoalaPad/Touch Tablet and Graphics Magician Picture Painter…

Posted by jericho_21 on Thu Mar 29, 2018 2:03 PM

Speaking of hacking TGM, I wonder how long that such an undertaking would take to complete. I personally would love to see it work for KoalaPad and Touch Tablet both. It would certainly be a whole lot easier to accomplish with if it had stylus support. Heck, Light Pen support would be nice. But, is it cost-effective to do that? Since the app is freeware now, it would have to be freeware. At least, in my own personal estimation. Thanks for letting me share. :)

#3884400 Arcade Games You'd Like To See Ported To The Atari 7800

Posted by jericho_21 on Sun Nov 5, 2017 5:11 PM

I would like to see two of my favorite games on the A7800, but I don't know if it will ever happen because they are owned by Atari. They are Marble Madness and Crystal Castles. Marble Madness for its impressive graphics, and Crystal Castles just because I love the game. Since they both play with the same type of controller, a Trak-Ball, I think that would be great to convert them to Trak-Ball games for the A7800. :)
