  1. The 80's were an interesting time for computing and video games in Sweden. A lot of companies imported all kinds of stuff. And as I wrote above. It seems that Sweden, and perhaps the rest of Europe, got a lot of stuff not wanted, or obsolete, in the US... Sent from my SM-G980F using Tapatalk
  2. Yeah, it definitely seems it made it into production. Perhaps they dumped it to Europe/Sweden when it started to go sideways for APF. Commodore did something similar with the C65 IIRC... There were ads in Swedish magazines for the C65 in the 90's. Sent from my SM-G980F using Tapatalk
  3. First, I didn't want to revive any old threads about the IM2, so I started a new one. (I also posted in the Atari Age group on FB) So what did I find? 3 APF Imagination Machine II (IM-2) (2 with original boxes) 3 Building Block Expansion box (BB-4) 2 sets of dual disk drives (D100) with only 1 Mini Floppy interface (FI-100A) 2 Seikosha GP-80 printers (one unused) with 2 Parallel Interfaces (PI-100) 2 16K RAM Expansion modules (R16-K) 2 APF BASIC Interpreter Operating Cartridge 2 games Bowling and Brickdown 1 set of controllers 1 APF Wire Wrap Module (WW-100) ? what is this? 1 APF 9" Video Monitor (TVM-10) Some software on tape and disk. One tape is labelled "Spel" and another "Luffarschack", which is Swedish for "Games" and "Naughts and crosses". The rest looks like they're tape versions of business programs. Loads of paperwork Unfortunately there were only one Floppy interface, one set of controllers and two BASIC carts... But still an okay find How did I come by this? I bought it off FB, in a vintage/retro computer group. The sons of a collector was clearing out their fathers old stuff and sold this lot and some other nice stuff. The father got them in the eighties from the owner of Rola Dator, Bengt Laurén. Rola Dator was the agent for APF in Sweden and sold both IM-1 and IM-2 as well as APF calculators. They were also the importer/agent for Grundy Newbrain. A sister company Rola Traktor, sold tractors. Questions A couple of questions for those of you that might know more about the IM-1/IM-2 than me... - What's the difference between the BB-1, which I seen before, the BB-2 mentioned in the APF product catalog, and the BB-4 found in this lot? - Have anyone seen the Wire Wrap Module before? It lacked the instructions, but it looks like it's a prototype PCB with a module connector for your own experiments. Seems like fun! Attached you find photos of the lot. Now i need to go though the lot and split it up as we were three dudes buying this together. Translation of the Swedish ad for the IM-1/IM-2, prices in Swedish Krona. (Divide by 6 to get a rough estimate in 1981 US dollars) (Translation made by @carlsson in an older thread: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/276205-apf-m1000-ownership-and-appreciation-thread/?do=findComment&comment=4074210)
