  3. Someone always knows Most drives don't even use the 12volt anymore so I would forget that one. Typical power is only a couple of 100ma or so. I dont know the exact ma run rating I will find out for you! I do remember that the motor ON current can peek to around 1.2amps even though the actual run current is about half of that. A typical supply of 5V 500ma should work fine. Thats about what I use for my External drives anyway! Chris
  4. Hello, AFAIK There isn't any kits which use a single 72pin simm or 4 30pin simms. The only kit I know of is the Marpet kit which used a whole bunch of RAM IC's. The cost of this kit was HUGE though it did offer a plugin option. IMO from what I have read in the past people have had nothing but problems with the plugin one. The solder-in kit by them should work fine though. I'm working on the 72pin board as you know at the moment. I keep changing the PCB design trying to find the best place to fit it all. Due to the stupid amount of PCB revisions and other things I won't be producing a plugin board, at least I doubt it anyway. The new design is only half built so far. If there is a lot of interest then I will try to finish the design quicker.
  5. Writing a PC program is hard to convert it though. There is no information about how the actual screen data is stored which makes it hard. I have a program which I am trying out which almost gets the image from a Pi1 picture though its got white lines ni it and I can get all kinds of odd problems. Chris
  6. yeah t hanks, I came across that site yesterday infact ive not looked at it yet. I found another one called "the atari picture viewer" which does a few common formats! Chris
  7. Thanks for the reply, I use GEMVIEW at the moment to convert them on my ST though I was wondering actually if there was a PC program to do it :-
  8. Hi all, A mate of mine says there is a PC art program to convert degas Pi1 to BMP has anyone any idea what it is called ? If not does anyone have the file spec for degas files ? I pretty much know how they are structured but would need to know exacts before I could write my won. Thanks! Chris
  9. I agree that they may seem a lot though half is on parts and half is on time to contruct them , which is why I made it possible for people to but which parts they want. Parts here are very expensive and in qty of less than 100 they are a lot also. I could probably shave $15 off the full kit maybe a bit more if I had a large amount of orders. Then I would buy some parts from Canada since they are half the cost. Though doing this for a few boards is not worth it. You can source the parts yourself and build the kit yourself and it will save you a lot. I hope to get some basic construction steps online soon aswell so people can see whats involved. I have fitting instructions already online if anyone wants to take a look at whats involved. Chris
  10. I dont know what conversion to $ would be though you might want to try and get the floppy drive yourself. I plan to make a page on how to mod the drive for use with my kits. Since I am in the U.K. Postage of the drive could be a good killer so anyone outside the UK might be best to find the drive themselves. The drives arn't really that heavy though the postage would be a few $ for sure. I have a few sources for drives in the U.S. I will try and track down someone to supply them with the mod already done. chris
  11. I will sell any part of the upgrade seperate. Some people may just want the PCB so I will sell just that. Though I would rather just sell the compleate kit since it will be tested upon despatch. It would probably save a lot of problems should anyone have problems for whatever reason. Hopefully some people will buy some so I can gain a little extra cash to invest in more projects! Chris
  12. I hosted them for 2 years also after the site first went down. Can't think why you didn't come across my site its been on google for years! Chris
  13. Well I hope that your message wasn't ment to discourage my efforts by saying along the lines that anyone could do such a simple thing. chris
