  1. Hello sir, I'd like to register my interest for the card - for a Lynx II. Many thanks!
  2. Hi, as a new jaguar owner using a SCART cable - I can confirm my machine is very quiet. The volume has to be quite loud on the TV to get an acceptable noise level from the console. Although I noticed with Theme Park that the previous cartridge owner turned all the audio levels right down - I had to use the Pause button ingame then press A, B and C to be able to adjust the levels right up. HTH
  3. Good advice! AvP is in the bag, along with Trevor McFur and Brutal Sports Football. I think that leaves me with only Zool and Pinball Fantasies left for games that tickle my fancy (mainly those ports from the Amiga like Theme Park, Sensi Soccer and Cannon Fodder. Looking forwward to AvP, playing late at night in the dark - like the advert . Even though it is a mid 90s game I have only been playing the Jaguar for the past week most evenings. So I am in 1990s mode and ready for the FPS AvP experience
  4. I now own a Jag for the first time, but back in 1993 (I was a young teenager) I had a Sega Megadrive II and Sega MegaCD (not the MegaCD 2 so it looked a bit ugly!). There was no way I would get my parents to pay for another machine. I remember the Jag had a good price in the UK though - not way too expensive like the 3DO. In my opinion it suffered from two problems at the time. I think the Jaguar was caught inbetween console generations given its release date - with the Saturn and Playstation coming in the wings around 1995 and people waiting for these machines. The software library did not have enough "AAA" titles, there were some very good titles but probably not enough to persuade SNES and Megadrive owners like me to jump ship. Given my ownership now in 2010 and taste of Jaguar games - I think it is very capable and certainly would not rank it the worst in my retro collection of that era. I have played my Amiga CD32, PS One and SNES far less.
  5. Thanks for the welcome all - yes I had thought of that possibility of multiplayer doom - not sure where to source a jaglink cable, they don't seem common. Also I don't think it would be used that much! I am really enjoying Cannon Fodder, it is every bit as good as I hoped it would play on the Jaguar - a very good conversion. As for the Jagfest, shame that is so soon, I may have to put my name down for the next one but it does look like a riot for a retro gamer. Time to think about some other games to add to my collection, Zool 2 and AvP but not sure of others.
  6. I just got me my first jaguar setup and I am very pleased - two systems! Accidental over eager ebay bidding led to getting two systems - dang! I am a big gamer (and retro fan) from my early days as a kid from a Sinclair Spectrum to my present day 360 and lots of machines inbetween. I never had a Jaguar - my first memories of the Jaguar are at a big now defunct rental store in the UK - Rumblelows. I remember they had a demo machine to try out and Jaguar games in my local store but of course - I was only a teenager and didn't have the money to buy the system - I had a Megadrive at the time instead and remember one time getting FIFA 95 when they had the Jaguar right next to the Sega stuff with lots of kids fighting over the controllers. I am big fan of the Commodore Amiga, and had one as a kid - I enjoyed great games like Cannon Fodder, Syndicate, Flashback and hey - many others than I can buy on the Jaguar! So to increase my retro collection, I just had to get a Jaguar to play on my big lounge TV and get these great games. First impressions are good - the machine is bigger than I imagined and remembered - it is a lot longer! However it feels substantial, secure and well made (Made in the USA!). The joypad is comfortable on the ahnds but I am finding it hard to control in Cannon Fodder using the dpad - but I am going to try another controller tonight as I have 3. I am not sure what other games to try out - I am surprised at how expensive Alien vs Predator still is - if it was the most popular title then surely there must be lots of copies? Ah well if I find one for the right price I may have a go. I would like to get Zool 2 as well, but thanks to ebay I have a lot of games to try out with my system while I see what to get next. I have already read lots in this forum and look forward to contributing to other threads, thanks for reading!
