  1. I've been friends with him for close to 10 years and ended up getting named as part of this document. Thing is I'm not a big part of the scene in anyway anymore, I had dealings with Chris W in the past but it was around 2012... that's 8 years ago! We parted ways with problems sure which I was pretty cross about but nothing on the level of being included in this statement and I'm truly scratching my head as to why I've been mentioned at all. Noticed I was listed by name part way through but he's seemingly deleted me as a friend over on Facebook, without so much as a word a couple of days ago. No rows between us and nothing that I know of to be dropped in this so I'm a bit annoyed that people might be trying to contact me off the back of it. I don't publish anything and just hang around forums for the most part these days, yet here I am seeing all this stuff in a sort of strange awe with my real name plonked right in the middle. I will say again I have no financial incentive about any of this this, no plans for books or anything in the works. I'm about as much a nobody as you can get online today. But 8 years ago when I did a small retro magazine there was a mini sort of Atari history article. This had several pages written by Laird. He was paid to do this and when I received the work I'd seen rumours online about past problems so to be safe I did a quick check of the paragraphs submitted. First thing I noticed was it's opening paragraph had mostly been lifted straight from Atari's Wikipedia page word for word, checking on it I'd found several more paragraphs just like it with a few sentences wrapped around to make it look new. I ended up rewriting sections that weren't taken from Wiki as we were getting really close to print. Was annoyed at the time and just brushed it off as this was a quarterly mag, I needed to get other stuff sorted. Glad I checked at the time but it's always stuck at the back of my mind. Reading through the statement I'm surprised it's even been done under his own name. This stuff is very legally liable and could be taken to court as is.
  2. I recently did a deep dive into the entire series, reviewing the games and covering their history for my podcast: https://amigarama.com/episodes/amigarama-podcast-episode-48-shadow-of-the-beast-iii/
  3. In this weeks episode I wanted to take a look at a game no one ever remembers for the Amiga... Road Rash! https://amigarama.com/episodes/amigarama-podcast-episode-56-road-rash/
  4. Hope this is okay but the Amiga section doesn't have too many posts and thought I'd mention a show I work on. The aim is to cover every Amiga game ever released (stopped laughing in the back!) on a weekly basis, digging into the history of each title as well as a close look and comment on how it plays. Been running for over a year and we are currently at the 55th show the latest being all about the arcade hit Smash TV. I've always dabbled in various collections over the years but this show has really helped me appreciate the library and find games I might never have ever attempted. The latest episode can be found here: https://amigarama.com/episodes/amigarama-podcast-episode-55-smash-tv/ Even spent an entire show chatting to Simon Phipps discussing his time in the games industry and working at Core. He heard the Rick Dangerous show and offered an interview so couldn't resist! Had a good look at many of his titles, such as Monty Python’s Flying Circus and Dragonstone etc. https://amigarama.com/episodes/amigarama-episode-39-simon-phipps-interview/ Each week I even provide gameplay footage for the game I'm discussing so lot's to see and hear if you aren't a podcast fan. Hopefully there's something for everyone and I'm always doing my best to improve the show each week
  5. Backed up files Tried the new menu.bin Reformatted (FAT) Tried new menu.bin etc Put ROM files back on I once got it to the 'insert game' screen, but not again.
  6. Will try replacing the files and see what happens!
  7. Managed to pick one of these up but... when I turn it on it goes to a black screen for a good while then eventually loads a game. There's an SD card in it which I'm told is already prepped and loaded with games but how do I get to a menu for them? Is there a way?
  8. There was one in the works but like a lot of homebrew projects it seems to have been dropped ages ago.
  9. And like magic it arrives!
  10. I'll just use some card and a colour printer. I did a normal print off first just to see it would fit right and seemed fine for me.
  11. Ha ha I never even thought of that!
  12. Started listening to this podcast a few weeks ago and finally caught up today.... loved it so far! Really looking forward to the next episode, Doom has been my favourite especially with the history split over this and Wolfenstein.
  13. I've been thinking about getting back into the Jag for several months but the prices always seemed to jump around too much for me to take a dabble... then I was offered an interesting deal and before I knew it had a Jag CD on the way: This video is a few days old and sadly still waiting on my console to arrive but fingers crossed it gets here soon!
  14. Asked a friend of mine to come up with something, nice and simple for Theme Park: http://tinyurl.com/z4oj3y2
  15. Nevermind, just noticed this! Link
