On the CoCo, a DOS is intended to be loaded based on a signature in the ROM, whereas a game (like Super Pitfall) uses a different mechanism to autostart. I'm not 100% sure on the technical details of why HDB-DOS isn't working in your configuration, but I suspect that if you had the same ROM image loaded in a non-autostart cartridge (e.g. the Deluxe RS232) things might work better for you.

It's an ambitious project, but I'm not sure I see any likely results. Perhaps this project could benefit from its own whitepaper, to sketch out the edges of the technology?

The links here are a cut-n-paste from an original announcement post on Facebook -- not really "intentional", just convenient (given that the pasted version is already a URL in the editor, not extra clicks involved). I don't know why Facebook munges the links in the cut-n-paste operation -- probably for tracking usage and whatnot. But again, if you are paranoid about Facebook then just use the text in the link as the URL itself. I'll try to remember to make the manual modifications in the future...
