  1. Yes. I was not saying the original intellivision. I was saying Intellivision one because we just had a bunch of Flashback's released. As for actual hardware Intellevision's seem pretty cheap unlike Colecovisions, but I think I'll get the Flashback since it has the built in games and has composite video. My 2600 currently is unusable on my Sony PVM Brodcast Monitor since it has no tuner.
  2. I didn't mean on already produced units. There is no way to update it. Like you said, later production run. Should I wait for a potential new production run or just pick up the current one?
  3. So there is a broken game for the Intellivision one? Has this been adressed by the company at all? Think it will be fixed?
  4. Here's what it looks like on my CRT: The edge of the TV is where those lit up side buttons are. So is this normal then? This is how the originals looked too?
  5. Is this system supposed to have a letterboxed resolution? Have no idea why the games don't fill my 4:3 CRT.
  6. Despite on Monday the store telling me it won't be out till the first of October, I decided to check anyways and am glad I did. All the Flash Backs were out. Didn't grow up with Atari, Intellivision, or Coleco, but man was it mind blowing to see a Sega Genesis system on sale in 2014. Got my Coleco today, really excited to try it out.
  7. I own all the Sega, Playstation, Microsoft, and Nintendo systems, as well as an Atari 2600. I have yet to play a game system that I didn't enjoy, but maybe it's just cause I've always loved games. I'm actually only 23 years old. Nesboy isn't my moniker because I grew up when the NES came out, it's cause I liked the system a lot at the time, I was 12 when I made that moniker for a yahoo account and have just reused it ever since for uniformity. Grew up mainly on Genesis, SNES, and original Gameboy, started buying classic games when I was just 10 from Gamestop and swapmeets cause they were so cheap. As for the retro Genesis system, I have a Model 1 Genesis, with the 32x and CD add-ons as well. I have always found Genesis emulation to be lackulster and am too much of a Genesis purist to get a clone console. I only make an exception for these Flashbacks since they are such a great deal for uncommon hardware. I ended up picking up the Coleco today. Looking forward to trying it out. Knowing me I will end up owning both at some point though.
  8. I don't think all Toys R US stores are set to release them on the 22nd. Both the Santa Clarita one (visited yesterday) and Porter Ranch (visited today) were insistent on the October 1 release date.
  9. Here seems like as good a place as any to ask. Which system should I pick up between the two? If I end up liking one I'll get the other at some point too. Oh nice! I'm from Santa Clarita but frequent the Northridge area since I go to CSUN. I think I read your post about picking one up there in the "Hunt Thread" a while back. I checked there this afternoon since I was in the area and they only had Flashback 4's out. I talked to an associate and asked if they had the Collecovision or Intellivision Flashback, he knew what they were and told me they had them, but they won't be able to sell them until their release on October 1st. Someone else posted about getting one from Santa Clarita and then hearing the manager tell the employees to put them in the back. So looks like you two guys beat me to the punch! I'll have to be patient and wait till Oct 1 I suppose.
  10. No luck at Santa Clarita TRU, employees were very nice though and looked in the back for me but couldn't find any and told me that "There are supposed to be 3 new Atari Flashbacks coming out Oct 1st with 90 games each". So looks like my hunt will continue to Porter Ranch tomorrow.
  11. Went to mine in Santa Clarita and despite them having Flashback 4's and other electronics set up on a certain wall on Sunday, today that entire wall was now Nintendo, Playstation, and Xbox accessories. I asked the clerk for the Coleco Flashback and he was nice enough to look around for me and he was only able to locate some Flashback 4's but told me that there are "3 new Atari Flashbacks coming out October 1st". So I will check Porter Ranch tomorrow and if they don't have one I will have to wait till then.
  12. I had a boxed Intellevision around 2005 that I got at a garage sale around here but didn't hold onto it for long, I was only 14 then and didn't have the space or knowledge of which games to seek out. I regret it, as I collect for all the classic Sega and Nintendo consoles and also have a 2600. I basically like to look into the library of every console I can. Even though I am usually against emulation and always prefer real hardware, the Intelevision Flashback and Colecovision Flashback both seemed like very good deals. Although, I will miss not being able to pick up more carts for these systems. How about you? You a collector?
  13. Holy crap! You were the guy! I am in Santa Clarita and went to TRU yesterday and only saw Atari Flashback 4's. When I asked they told me that they accidently had them out before and sold 1 but they aren't supposed to be sold yet. Crap, so no more Flashbacks in Porter Ranch? This is right next to CSUN so seemed like a good place to check since I go there for school.
  14. I didn't realize I could order off their site, maybe that is a viable option. I'm in Santa Clarita, closest one to me is apparently in Palmdale, not worth the drive or gas for the extra game. I don't have the original controllers but that is a bummer. Don't have a Sam's Club memberhip either hahahah. Is it really that great of a game?
  15. Wish I had a Dollar General, I'm in southern california and there don't appear to be any nearby.
