  1. There are a couple or a few here that I would raise question to ... Now, not that I've tested this but the timings seem to be extraordinarily longer for some functions .... A=LEN("TEST") ... Xb at 1:48 and XB2.9GEM at 12:12 A$=RPT$("A$",255) Xb at 2:17:15 and XB2.9GEM at 17:5 A$=SEG$("TEST",2,3) Xb at 5:27 and XB2.9GEM at 55:25 You gotta admit that's a little odd?
  2. When I asked it to do a Python Pygame program to do a bouncing ball sprite, it didn't achieve it on first attempt. I had to tell it to update the screen with each animation, and then it got it right ... It needs a little push in not so obvious places. I'll have a bash with TI Basic, I actually remember I tried once to get it to do some 9900 assembly, and according to the assembly guys on here it failed miserably.
  3. This website seems to generate decent Python code (which I've been attempting to learn a bit of) ... not sure about TI code though as I've never tried that but here's the site either way..... https://zzzcode.ai/code-generator
  4. It'd be funny if Tursi and the guys at VICE did this , and then started a price-war.
  5. Windows 10 just stole my Classic99.exe file. I attempted to launch it (for the second time, after initially telling it that it's okay to run this "new " software.) And it basically popped up a window telling me Classic99.exe contains either a virus, or potentially malicious software. And then it just took it out of the folder. It stole it. It won't give me it back. So rude!
  6. When I first encountered Classic99 way back in 2009, I actually thought the emulator was running too fast. Tombstone City sounded almost upbeat compared to how I was used to it on the old console at 50hz. It took me weeks to realize it was set at 60hz because it wasn't written in Britain.
  7. I was having a tantrum. Stamping my feet. I'm over it now but if you wanna take me up on it fine.
  8. I noticed Carlsson, that's how I found the Mospeed compiler but I did forget to thank you for that so thanks. I've decided to go with the C64 for now, for the game I had in mind, which is a conversion of my Dodge City for the TI-99. I'll be compiling with Mospeed and if there's a way to do it, I'd like to put a SID tune in there that'll play along in the background, but that's a way off yet! ( won't be my tune either , I'm in no way affluent musically or SIDically.)
  9. Indeed it did. Looks like I'll have to spend the rest of my life attempting and failing to learn assembly / mc.
  10. ahhhh crap. https://sleepingelephant.com/~sleeping/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=7905 I was gonna redefine chars and compile a game using Austro Compiler but that compiler doesn't take a new start-of-basic location into account , so i can't have redefined characters. Well, that's fudged that then. How on earth did this fucking computer win the price war.
  11. Hello all. I'm new to the Vic and I need to know how to redefine characters , but with the 16K memory expansion. I watched a video on youtube of a guy defining a smiley face character, and attempted to do the same but it wouldn't work, seems only works in 3.5k. Anyone got any pokes numbers I could use some help? Thanks in advance.
  12. The64 arrived just an hour or so ago. The Evri driver was just getting back in his car after he dropped off the box on my doorstep - luckily I was watching out for him and got there before any porch pirates could. I'm pleased with it.
  13. Thanks Robert. Yeah Blitz really doesn't seem to mind anything I throw at it, for that neither does Mospeed64 , the online one that you can just drag a .txt file into it and press compile. I can make programs that suit the speed. I'll have a look at the Abacus compiler though.
