  1. Old thread, I know. This was ripped from the version developed by Alexey Pajitnov in Russia a long time before the game became popular. By the time it hit the arcade scene Tengen was ready to port it. Nintendo thought it best that THEY should hold the rights and sued. Ultimately, they won. The Tengen version was a short run to say the least. These days, it's a rare cart and can fetch many times the value of a standard grey version. The Nintendo version is easy compared to the Tengen one because the NES wasn't looking to eat up your money a quarter at a time. Find an arcade version with the difficulty set higher than 0 and you'll find that getting past the first level can, at times, be impossible. Funny thing is..... Pajitnov never made a single cent for his work in creating one of the most well-known games in history.... Something to do with government control ( I think, but not sure.)
  2. I have a few part numbers to check for. I'll get to it in the morning. With any luck I'll find what you need. Thanks. :-)
  3. Do you happen to have a part number? The descriptions are fairly generic on the IC packages. Let me know. Thanks!
  4. Videogamesoldandnew - eBay Nymediasales - Amazon Should have included that info. And, for a lousy million you probably want free shipping too? :-) I will respond to messages through either venue. Can also list items of interest on eBay if that makes it easier. I'm really just trying to free up space for other stuff.
  5. I collect video games in general. Not so much for their value, but to play them. That's not to say that I've never went out of my way to pick up some rare NES titles (Action 52, Little Samson, Duck Tales 2, Surprise at Dino Peak, BOING- 2600, etc.) With the exception of Action 52 these are all games that I wanted to play on an actual console so I think it was worth the money. Will they be worth what I paid down the road? Who cares?! That's for whoever handles my estate sale to worry about.... You see, life isn't all about money.... At least it shouldn't be.... So, if you like to play games, then play games. If you want to invest then anything collectable beyond the realm of fine art, rare coins, and the like is probably not a solid long-term investment strategy.
  6. I came across a huge lot of Atari service center stuff ranging from the 2600 on up. I don't need all of it since there are multiples of most items. Heres what I have available: 2 Atari 400 48K RAM expansions (new in box, boxes are roughed up quite a bit) Atari 810 Master Diskette II (Boxed, but box is rough) Atari 400 SALT Version 2.07 (untested but appears to be in good shape) Atari 5200 TV antenna switch box and switch box adapter (new in box, box is rough) CX40 Joystick cable 3 Start Pause Reset buttons (5200, new, Part # C018128) 800 Power supply? Part number C014176 (untested) 4 5200 controller shells (new in bulk packaging) Peripherial Port Jump Part number TE15659 2 Controller port short plugs Part # MA017602 (pending) Random motherboard Part # C017145 Random motherboard Part # C014706 64K RAM expansion CA061553 I also have a few thousand IC's, transistors, resistors, capacitors, controller cables, knobs, potentiometers, etc. So if you need a specific part I may just have it. Sorry for the long post, just trying to clean up. I've had this stuff for nearly a year. PM if you would like to make an offer on any (or all) of this stuff. I have a long (positive) track record on eBay and Amazon so packing stuff safe and secure is nothing new to me.
  7. Seems like that's probably what it is. Thanks for the quick response!
  8. I recently came into a bunch of Atari service center stuff. Included in the bundle were a few oddball items that I've never seen before. The one I can't find any information on is a cassette simply labeled "ATARI Test Cassette." Anyone have an idea of what it might be used for? The lot ranges from the 2600 on up to Atari 400/810 items. I don't have the means to test it out since my only cassette player goes to my Commodore and that hasn't been hooked up in ages.
