  1. Finally got around to testing this again. There was an option to remap the A/B and Y/X buttons on the gamepad but this is not resolve it. The Start button brings up the menu, the A button acts as the right button, but B and select do nothing. So we're stuck -- gamepad will not work. I did happen to buy the NSO Genesis gamepad in the meantime which works perfectly so no biggie. EDIT to be clear this is an 8bitdo problem, not a 7800GD problem. There seems to be limited support of the mod kits with 8bitdo's own dongles.
  2. And for anyone wondering, the RetroTink 4K cannot magically resolve these problems either.
  3. Yes this issue is fixed in RT4K firmware v1.0.8 with the Video ADC 'Wide Tolerance' setting enabled!
  4. Thanks I'll check this out today. I was watching their Discord and saw the 1.0.8 release but was too tired to try it last night.
  5. Just finished setting up my RetroTink 4k and Otaku SCART switch with some other consoles. I had a GBSControl build running before and all was well with the 7800GD. The RetroTink 4K, for some reason, isn't finding the signal from the 7800GD (RGB SCART 75ohm setting, as with the other consoles). Has anyone else gotten this to work?
  6. I have purchased two Mega7800 units, one from SAG from the first batch along with my 7800GD, and another from the more recent-ish batch from the AtariAge store. I was hoping to be able to use the 8bitdo MD dongle with the NES mod kit: https://shop.8bitdo.com/products/8bitdo-mod-kit-for-original-nes-controller-old-edition The thing is, all the buttons seem to map to button 1? I tried pairing it with all of its startup modes and I can't get any buttons to be the second Atari 7800 button. Since the firmware cannot change I'm guessing I'm out of luck here, is that correct?
  7. If anybody comes across this thread while researching this problem, here is a very good YouTube video explaining the issue and challenges in dealing with it:
  8. Alright, thanks for explaining it! I will check out the hacked ROMs for the 2600 games I want to play on this setup.
  9. Some additional context: My 7800 is modded, first with composite and then later updated with UAV / S-Video. NTSC / US.
  10. First and foremost, I know this is probably an issue with my chosen upscaler -- a build of GBSControl wired for c-sync, but here is what's happening. Everything works great for any 7800 title and I've played a lot on 7800 games already. In some 2600 games, and in particular the swimming level in Jungle Hunt, the scaler apparently gets really confused and the signal starts jumping around. Short video clip of this in action: https://1drv.ms/v/s!AgvzyznEf2O8mKIqPfyUlmf3SQb8BQ?e=bZRRLh Let me know and I can attach it directly here. I have tried getting debug logging from GBSControl but when this is happening the unit is apparently too busy to respond to web requests so I'm not getting any data. I will keep plugging away at that. Does this look like any other common issue people are having? Thanks!
  11. It is spring-loaded. I had a hard time pressing the card in far enough to get it to click also.
  12. All systems are go over here! Everything's working great. Just have to fiddle a bit with the scaler's settings. Then I can just kick back and play some Jinks, the worst game in the world. Edit: If anyone is wondering, this 7800 was once composite modded and I later installed the UAV mod for S-Video. No problems at all with it on my console. Ballblazer audio is working.
  13. Mine's arriving in Indiana tomorrow as well. My GBScontrol setup is all ready to go.
  14. That was quick. I got an order in.
  15. Okay great! Glad it's not going to be a short run item. Maybe I can give my F5 key a break.
