  1. I have a couple DIY external supplies still, just wire up your existing 4pin female cable and attach it into a project enclosure (radio shack $3.95) PM for details. :^)
  2. Heat and old age are just doing what they do to the components. Slowly waisting away.
  3. I think they may pull them back off the shelf soon however. there were three of them when i picked mine up.
  4. I got one today from Toys R Us they said their computer wouldn't let them sell it but a manager did an override an override. There's quite a few of them available still on the shelf next to the Atari flashbacksystem. There were no intelivision systems though.
  5. But I finally spent a few hours playing some older games in my library, and I think I have a new favorite.. BEAMRIDER! I never really gave this one too much time, as it seemed to be sort of generic sounding. Still love Looping, Venture, Mousetrap, and the Donkey franchise.. But Beamrider is super slick, smooth and the sprite work is really done well. that's all.

  7. rubycon or matsushita caps are very good. panasonic av caps are good if you can find them.
  8. Are you using a capacatince meter or just ohm-ing them? It would be a good idea to swap over all of the wet caps, they are all far beyond their service life.
  9. 20 plus years ago, Radio Shack sold a replacement supply. there is a German vendor on ebay has a coleco power supply for sale. The rub with the coleco supply is -5v needed for the stock 4116 dram, and roller interface. I have a small stock of open frame trivoltage switching units on hand if you want to swapover your cables and do a bit of soldering.
  10. PM me your details. I'll put it in a cheap post package tomorrow.
  11. If you are interested, I have a old coleco PSU that is dead on the +12v side, if you want the internals to fix yours I'll shoot it to you. -Cheers
  12. 13. Just to clarify. A TIP41a is not interchangable with a LM7805 Vreg. You need to figure out if your transformer tap is providing voltage to input that side of your +5V circuit. If you have voltage at the transformer, work outward and find the offending component. That transformer is a mess, with leads going all over the place, good luck. If you want a new supply, a European ebay member has them. (I also have some DIY supply units)
  14. youll probably want to move that off the vram, those 4116 chips get hot..
  15. be careful replacing the octals, the traces lift pretty fast.
