  1. 1. low-cost computer able to compete with the VIC20 (e.g. 600XL with 8 KB of memory) at the beginning of 1981 at the latest. 2. 800XL in early 1982 at the latest (to compete with the C64). I don't believe that the then quite big companies like Atari didn't have something like industrial espionage and didn't know what the competition was planning 3. Hiring some top programmers around 1982-1984 to develop AAA titles to stop the exodus of users to other computers. 4. ANTIC+GTIA+POKEY in one chip around 1985/6 and a 16-bit machine based on the 65816 with 256 KB RAM, better graphics to display 80 columns, downward compatible with the 400/800/XL series instead of the XE which was totally unnecessary.
  2. Tried all available models, different ATR versions of The Top 3, 400 mini always returns to the carousel

  4. Something wrong in your emulator or grabber - every few columns of the screen is displayed wrong. The best way to see this is in the time bar, which has breaks every few units and shouldn't. Damn, I was not going to do anything about it anymore, but I'll try to do NTSC detection and give about the same amount of time to colleagues on the other side of the world
  5. Tatqoo and I have finished work on Dungeon Adventurer, the game that took part in the game compo at Last Party 2024. Changes compared to the "party version" include the removal of quite a few bugs, the addition of new soundtracks (for the "game over" screen and the ending, among others) and the possibility to enter codes, which you get after passing each level. For those who haven't seen the game yet, brief info: - 20 levels to complete - the last level is more difficult, as we can only see the part of the dungeon closest to the hero, - several items to collect, - a screen with the ending story. I recommend reading the manual first so you know how the items work. Requirements: Atari with 48KB RAM. The game is downloadable from my Gitlab, sources in MadPascal there. https://gitlab.com/delysio/dungeon-adventurer/
  6. This is very interesting, because I exported the file from Audacity again using exactly the same settings (16 bit, 44 kHz, PCM) and this time the length in Altirra is correct. Anyway, I can't replicate it now either - but it really was, I have witnesses Thanks, didn't know that!
  7. I would like to report that Altirra misjudges the length of an audio file if the tape image contains an audio track - the length is doubled. BTW. Is there an option to listen to the audio of the pilot tone while loading tape image? I cannot find this in the options. By the way, I won't forget to always add that @phaeron does an excellent job
  8. I can confirm, that loading fnt and scr works flawlessly! Thank you! One more think will be great - if it is possible - create tiles from selection. Press selection, select area and press button "Tileset from selection". Great work!
  9. Loading FNT files works great. However, I have a problem. I load a file with character definition, then the screen content (960 bytes) - and in the Screen and Character tabs everything disappears. Attaching the font and scr files. Thanks. l01.fnt l01.scr
  10. Of course. Here is charset from my game. I would appreciate it if you could add the possibility of uploading these types of files. level_01.fnt
