  1. I just want to warn those who trust it as an authority for any game to properly work on the Analogue NT Mini, it may not. Don't blame kevtris for smokemonster's romset. Smokemonster sets are labeled for and targeted towards Analogue NT Mini and other flash cart users, but it's not vetted for them. Even for other flash carts, there are a lot of basic mistakes like Tetris for Gameboy isn't in the "USA R-Z" but buried in the "Revisions" folder. It does have extras I've not found in other sets... and it's that weird mixture of romsets that if you can even find a game in its proper place, the dumps won't necessarily work properly on any flash cart (which is the whole point, right?). I do appreciate their intention, but they probably need crowdsourced help to get it done properly and thoroughly.
  2. For those that want to use VGA, I tested the NT Mini with an HDMI to VGA adapter and it works great! For Colecovision, the CV ROM Update Project on this forum has been a more reliable set than smokemonster's. Choplifter (CRC32: E7A1FF9F) graphics corruption happens after you play it for a bit, or maybe immediately. Use 030E0D48 instead. Slither hack (CRC32: 92624CFF) to play with the joystick instead of the roller controller. I was playing level 3 difficulty, and on phase 4 when there's a ton of enemies, half of them are corrupt or missing parts of their bodies, as you eliminate through them the graphics get better. Maybe the hack was applied to a bad dump? Montezuma's Revenge (CRC32: 0BD9D073), locks up when you enter certain rooms. It's very random, so I can't get it to repeat even if I take the same path, but I suspect that CED0D16E is a better dump. The smokemonster set also doesn't even apply Atari 7800 patches needed from kevtris' readme.
  3. Can anyone confirm if the 7800 core displays in color or black & white with composite (or s-video) output? I did more testing with the 7800 core on composite, other TVs still displayed it as black and white. Even the menu is in b&w, no green. These are all NTSC TVs. Other cores are fine on composite/s-video. I tested more with the Colecovision, and I just think the palette is different than I'm used to, component palette to me looks like what I remember. NES has the best reproduction on composite and s-video, the green in the menu is noticeably more vibrant than when switching to other cores. Is anyone even using composite?
  4. I'm having issues with color using Composite and S-Video on certain cores with my NTSC CRT TV. 7800 core is black and white, Colecovision logo during boot is noticeably dull and the difficulty selection is purple instead of blue. Those same cores have the correct color when using component on the same TV. NES looks great in composite, looks very close to the real thing. SMS seemed normal. I thought it was my SD card, but I tried the latest official, then the JB and it worked. I noticed the firmware preinstalled was 1.6 and the latest JB was 1.6, maybe it thought they were the same version and wouldn't update. 5. Hey kevtris, great work! I just bought one! I was wondering if you had plans for the USB port on the NT mini. Keyboard support (MSX, Adam, Famicom BASIC)? Number pads for Coleco or Intellivision?
  6. I could never sell Jungle Hunt, that game is a classic. But yeah, it's all been sitting in a hot attic for the past 20+ years.
  7. Really, a manual for an educational game? (ok, it was a fun educational game) Super Sketch was one of the few things that worked, since it didn't require a controller port.
  8. I have great memories playing Coleco with him. We would play side by side on this arcade table he built for the system, using real arcade controller parts. Unfortunately, it was re-purposed for SNES, so it's no longer a Coleco controller. He was way ahead of his time doing that sort of thing....
  9. Back in the day, my dad collected as much Colecovision stuff as he could after the video game market bust. I grew up with many fond memories playing it, long after we had the NES. After mentioning it (begging) for years to play the system once again, my dad finally dug out the old Colecovision(s) and everything he could find for it. Unfortunately, the controller ICs are bad on all the systems, but I think I have the correct info on replacing the chips. Anyways, I thought I would share with you guys. There's some pretty cools stuff here, especially since he kept most of the manuals.
