Do the disk drive, tape drive, light pen, light gun and cartridges for an Atari 400 work on an Atari 800? Thanks in advance. Wild

I have lost my Atari 400 AC adapter. It requires 9v at 3.4A. I have a variable adapter that will do the 9V, but at 600mA. I don't want to try it and blow up my 400 that I've had since childhood. Anyone know the answer?
