  1. Oh sorry I meant they have to release EMULATED versions. I wasn't aware that pedantry ran riot on here. I thought people might have the brains to realise that. I'm sorry that my English isn''t the best - it isn't my native tongue. Living in the UK has made me better and worse. haha. “There are, but we’re not done thinking them through yet, unfortunately… It turns out to be hard to emulate the PowerPC stuff on the X86 stuff. So there’s nothing to announce, but I would love to see it myself.”so it isn't custom? It is universal is it? Haha. Universal means for all - so it will play all games on all consoles? No. Custom is different to bespoke. They have to emulate, idiot, because it is different architecture. and five points for naming whom from MS said that quote about that? if it isn't an emulator tell me how the blades work? Also tell me how you can access leaderboards and other things?
  2. We have reached out to Microsoft for more information. Update: "As Frank said, nothing has been built. It is super challenging to emulate two completely different architectures and there aren't currently any plans to build this that was before they started. But go on and tell me how they don't have to optimise each game on the Azure cloud. Where did you get your BSc from?
  3. Really? So rockband and guitar hero don't need specialist ones for the hardware?
  4. Where do people get these screens with only one HDMI? Don't go to Maplins as they are expensive. PCWorld do some very good ones - but the price isn't cheap. We are talking over £20... it's like anything though - you can buy a cheap extension lead and it break in 6 months. Or you can buy an expensive Belkin one that lasts 6 years. Im not even joking. So same with this - buy a well made one that works or buy a cheap one repeatedly.
  5. Nope. Not true. They only ever allow so many onto the program and they tend to pick based on activity, experience and a whole host of other criteria. I am in the Preview program for not just xbox but Spark and Windows insider. It isn't that great. You get points for completing tasks and giving feedback. The coolest part is being able to suggest a feature for future OS builds and bug report. So many bugs on XBOne. As for BC... it is ok but it is still an emulator and it shows. the FPS can spike and plummet.... and that is just one problem. TBH the BC doesn't interest me as much as the idea of upscaling... seen it go to work in previews of other products and it's great! Like with ramping up 480 vids to 720. would be nice to see if they can do it with games as well as flash videos. I forgot to say that I invited a friend 12 times nearly 7 months ago and when I asked SuperK (used to work on SUAM on XboxLive UK) to which he answered that they only ever allow a few at a time and that it might take 6-8 weeks for them to send him the invite. If at all. He still aint got it. and it is not down to Gamerscore. MS aren't stupid and they know rich people and people that rent games will have a higher than normal score.
  6. Backwards compatibility isn't really a thing. It isn't as simple as that. They have to build an emulator for each game. So the short answer is yes and no. over time more games will be available - but that will take time and only a handful are available at the moment. I suggest you look up on Youtube about it - IGN and XBOX have their own channels showcasing it. Major Nelson does as well. Yes. It isn't your gamercard and hasn't been for a while - it is now all part of your Live Account. This will link up with Windows and any other MS accounts or devices you use. This means you can save onto OneDrive on PC and view on OneDrive on Xbone. No. It is not how it works. Xbox One environment is radically different to 360 - this is because they opted for a PC architecture - and so it cannot simply play. How it reads saves is even different due to the change in filing system to speed up Read/Write times. It is the problem Harmonix have had with their forthcoming Rockband game - they want DLC from old RBs to work on next gen. Im afraid this is like Vinyl to Cassette. This is why backward compatibility is so hard - it requires emulation by software. Yet again you are jumping way ahead of yourself and not thinking this through. As harsh as that may sound. A) the disk on the XBone is not the same type of disk drive. so no - you can't trade them out. B) the file system is different so your xbone wont read the older HDD. C) Games form 360 cant play on Xbox one - this isn't a hidden fact. it is well publicised. None of the next gens are able to play old downloaded games and neither can play old disks. So no need for saves. In short all you are asking is the same as me saying "Can I put a fiat panda engine into a Zonda?" no. you can't. it doesn't fit. or it is exactly the same as saying - can my Nintendo Wii U play Virtual Boy Games straight from the card? No. They are two different consoles. well the differences between the 360 and XBOne are the same as the famicom and amiga 500.
  7. You being serious? Like honestly? :/ people buy an xbox when they can't afford a gaming Pc and you think they will own high end PC games? Im sure it would be a novelty but I cannot see XBONE being able to Handle GTA V with settings on full, in 4k at 60fps... I mean you need an expensive router and have a killer (that is the name Qualcomm give their cards) network card just to run GTA from XBONE at sub 1080 and keeping up the 60fps - which I have yet to see any proof that it can do that. And before you say it, it isn't my PC - unless MSI GT-80 is not good enough with it's SLI gtx980s - it is down to the network reqs. It seems cool for those wanting to play on tablet outside the house.... but that is never gonna happen as tablets are dying. Yes it may prove some use one day... right now I can see very few uses. As for the parent with the kid... thanks for letting your child play age restricted games like MK and COD. It is always such fun to get abuse from a 12 year old whose parents need lessons in being good parents. Playing solo is one thing but to allow them online?!?! Oh and you don't need to use the usb to resync your pad - there is a button, and you advised to do it that way for a reason. I would go into it but that would require explaining why the controller also has it's own bios. And also how. Sorry but that has angered me. You are the reason I don't play Xbone anymore and moved back to PC. After 7 glorious console years I knew plebs like the one above would ruin it with their scummy parenting. I have gone back to PC where kids don't play because they can't afford to. The only kids that play on PC play cracked version so no online ^.^ Is your soon one of those n00bTubers? *sigh* When I were younger parents took responsibility and set boundaries. I got grounded for a week when my parents found out I had bought PC Gamer with Carmageddon xmas demo on it... can remember running over a Santa as my Mother entered the room.
  8. The T was a form of branding for the games division. How do I know? Because I have Batter Up the Jap version for Game Gear. Sometimes called Gear Stadium. It says on the back (crudely translated by a friend) Namcot, part of Namco 1986, 91. Also Pac-man 3d was released in 1999 as Pac-man World. Which was released ONLY on ps1 and GBA and was due to be released on Dreamcast and N64 but was cancelled. SCEE distributed it in Europe. I love it when people lie to seem cool. And to reiterate... one person already said it. There is no magical reason. Namcot to Namco is what Team Sonic was to Sega. Namcot usually made arcade games for Sega and Ninty. Games like Batters Up. It only appears in Jap games though.
