#4250446 High Score Competition (May: Borzork)

I'd be inclined to agree as well, but I guess you need to see how many people say yes. If you DO want to do it, I would recommend at least waiting a little longer, as about 30% of the orders are still in transit. ;)

For all of you hoarders er collectors....

https://www.shopgood...m/Item/65649524

A FULL 4A with what appears a FULL? PEB (can't see the front so who knows if it has a floppy drive or two), a few carts and a mystery item.... 49 lbs shipped.

located in Tucson, AZ.

Looks like the Doryt Systems mystery item is a printer interface based on this response from the folks at Goodwill:

"Good morning and unfortunately we cant find out by looking at it. It states on it parallel output and para print 18 a. have a great day!"

I’d like to see how this is done. Something for beginners who struggle a little at skills such as the dreaded de-soldier.

#4245555 Terrible Old TI-99/4A Games You Probably Never Heard Of

You can perhaps appreciate my joy in paying US$32 for Zero Zap back in 1983, when money was worth more than now. Using UK inflation that would today be US$90!!!! Quite a lot for not very much. It colours my love for the program a little.

We need to start a Go-Fund-Me page to help right this wrong.

Are you saying you want a ZeroZap 2?

Don’t you think ALL the bad titles deserve a reboot?

I ordered a small LCD because I needed something portable for the VAST meetings. It’s like two-man Festwest with donuts every month in PHX.

The speaker inside is more than adequate as well.

#4244846 Terrible Old TI-99/4A Games You Probably Never Heard Of

Posted by Airshack on Mon Mar 25, 2019 3:00 PM

After really enjoying the handheld Mattel Football back in the 1970s I came upon Odyssey2 Football. That two-player action game was awesome for its time! Played and enjoyed it hundreds of times with my friends.

Then one friend got Intellivision which had a mind blowing rendition of Football. Again, played it hundreds of times and derived much pleasure from the experience. Lots of action plus strategy.

Then I purchased the TI home computer and soon saved up enough money for — FOOTBALL. Discovered it was some 1971 mainframe teletype style statistics turn-based “game” clone with ugly graphics. Lipstick on a dated pig.

The sports equivalent of the 1973 Hunt the Wumpus TI conversion.

One of the all-time disappointments in gaming for me. I played it because I paid for it. Zero joy derived. So my vote is for FOOTBALL.

i guess i'm an outlier, lol.  before i gave the tv to my daughter, i just used a TI composite cable and an el cheapo $99 walmart tv and was tickled pink at the picture.

The composite cable image looks good on a CRT. I’d agree with that. Especially compared to RF.

I’m just ruined by that F18A image with an LCD. It’s perfect...really just perfect.

I’ll post a few shots here of my 10” LCD hooked to the TI F18A vs the composite look. It’s dramatic.

Think this would handle the TI's video OK?
I was also thinking of using it as a Pi monitor too.

Anything

I have one of these which works beautifully with a VGA modded F18A system.

On the downside it looks absolutely horrible with regular TI composite hooked up. Think blocky snow and really bad shadowy text.
