  1. Oh joy. Turns out I have the worst model, and the way he describes the sound pretty much fits what I'm hearing (Although he describes it as a hiss, I guess it's the same thing). Well, seeing as I only paid $3 for my Genesis, and got a 32X and some other goodies with it, I guess I can't complain much. I'll just have to keep my eyes out for a better model. Pretty crazy how many revisions there are of this thing though. I had no idea there was so much to look for on a Genesis! Anyways, thanks for the help!
  2. So I noticed recently that my Genesis (which I got from a yardsale a few years ago) seems to have a lot of buzzing. It seems to get louder or quieter depending on what's on screen. The picture is perfect. I plugged an aux cable into the headphone port on the Genesis and made a recording straight from the console, which you can listen to here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ajq7oQLp1JsOiIB1hSNqKZ2pl7TdVA(please excuse the radio signal! That was picked up by the cable I used and isn't part of the problem.) I start out with the volume slider fairly low before turning it down completely so all you hear is the buzz. Also, I have an original AC adapter and AV cable. Basically, all I want to know is if this is normal, and if not what I should try doing to fix it? Thanks for any help!
  3. There's no liquid inside. In the pic I posted I was looking through a magnifying glass, so any scratches on that are showing, and there are also a few pieces of dust underneath the screen cover. The brightness is all the way down because that's the only way to see the "splotches"... And maybe that's not the best word. "Specs" would probably be a better word because they're so tiny. The pic really doesn't show what I'm talking about since they're so tiny I can barely get my iPod to focus. I've managed to take some better pics now. There's one of Battlewheels (The dark spot in the middle is only visible to the camera.) and the other picture is with the brightness all the way down with the lights out. Now the little specs are more visible. I'd definitely like to get a nicer screen at some point, but I don't think it's urgent right now.
  4. Cool, thanks. Not interested at the moment, I'm just curious what this is and if I should be concerned about it. I don't notice it at all while playing!
  5. So, the other day I walked into my local game shop (G2k Games) and I bought a boxed copy of Chip's Challenge, even though I didn't have a Lynx. I just wanted a boxed copy of Chip's Challenge! However, after I got home, I started looking into the Lynx, and I couldn't resist going back to the store and buying one! They had two, both were the second model, and the first one I bought had a pretty messed up screeen. It had these splotchy colors in the upper-left corner, and the colors were all messed up unless you pushed in on the casing near option 2. I brought it back and they gave me the other one, which is really nice! However, I just noticed last night that it also has a tiny amount of those splotches on the screen as well. Most are near the upper left, however there are a few scattered around the screen. You can only see them when the screen is dark and the system is on. I've attached a photo. It's pretty hard to see them. My question is, is there anything I should do, and should I worry about this? Or is it out of my hands and I'll just have to replace the screen eventually? Thanks for any help!
