  1. I was thinking about that cart too, but getting Yoshi and maybe Star Fox for nostalgic reasons for half the price of the 10in1 repro in very good condition is all you really need. The rest is trash. The 4in1 SA-1 is much more interesting IMO.
  2. I don't really need it. If they are able do it I would pay $200 more - no problem - but if they can't I can live without Sega CD and/or 32x. A lot of the CD games got PSX/Saturn ports. There are less than 10 games I would like to play on both addons combined. On the base system there are easily 75+ games.
  3. Yes! The SNES is great for JRPGs and Nintendos Jump&Runs. Most other genres like brawlers (Streets of Rage 1-3, Golden Axe 1-3), shmups (Thunderforce 3+4, Elemental Master, MUSHA, Gynog, Hellfire, Gaiares, Gley Lancer), most Disney Jump&Runs, sports games (NHL Hockey) are better on the Mega Drive. It also has classics like Dune 2, Herzog 2, Phantasy Star 2-4, Shining Force 1+2, Shinobi 1+3 & Shadow Dancers, Gunstar Heroes, Story of Thor, Wonderboy in Monster World, Wiz n Liz, Mercs, Warsong, Story of Thor, Mystical Defender and many more. So I would kill to play those games with the same image quality and comfort as I can play SNES games on the Super Nt or NES games on the Nt Mini.
  4. Diminishing interest? I will buy and be happy about PC Engine, Mega Drive and NeoGeo like I was about the Super Nt. Light users may be interested in the SNES most, but real retro gamers appreciate all systems. Are light users really the target audience of Analogue? Those people are happy with SNES Mini, Pi, etc.
  5. No problem with my SD2NES revision H and a 5.1V/2.1A iPad power supply.
  6. Maybe SmokeMonster isn't interested in shipping costs or full quotes.
  7. Colors are still wrong in 4.3 if you use HQ2x, HQ3x and HQ4x scalers. Orange is almost yellow for example and overall it looks as bad as the old firmwares. "Scale 2x" and "Scale 3x" don't have that problem and use the same improved colors as "No Scaler". So you shouldn't use HQ(2-4)x in 4.3 - I hope Kevtris will fix this behavior in a future update, because I like HQ2x for some games in 1080p mode.At the moment I would recommend "720p60", "no scalers", "Disable V Interpolation", "Normal Scanlines", "Gamma +1" as baseline for new users.
  8. If you don't use any scalers and no vertical interpolation you can move the scanlines with the "Vertical Position" option. Scanlines were not improved, so it should be the same with 4.3.
  9. If your TV/monitor is set to full range you should see a huge difference if you toggle the "limited range" option on/off. The black borders will switch between black and grey and will only be black if you turn the "limited range" option off. If your TV/monitor is in limited range mode and the Super Nt is sending full range it's not that easy to see. You would need a dark image (night scene) or a test pattern to check the difference. So if you don't see a difference you may need the "limited range" option.
  10. That's wrong. Activating the "limited range" option of the Super Nt should exactly avoid that problem. A working "limited range" implementation will compress the color range to 16-235 and it's hard to see a difference to full range / full range in most cases. Only mixing the settings is a problem and will result in the problems you mentioned.
  11. Thanks for the update. Does the Nt Mini have a similar problem? Is the problem with the fallback to wrong settings (for example missing scanlines) with roms (including Turrican) also fixed?
  12. It depends on the game. If it was optimized for PAL50 you would have to change your Super Nt to 1080p50 or 720p50. Patching the game to NTSC is problematic if the game was optimized for PAL resolution and speed. Some games have no optimization so you could run them on 1080p60 or 720p60 and they will play like NTSC games.
  13. SD2SNES essentially gives you Star Ocean (translated hacked version), Mega Man X2+3 and Mega Man X3 "Fully Playable Zero hack". DSP-Support (Everdrive DSP and SD2SNES) essentially gives you Mario Kart (+hacks) and Pilot Wings. There are English translations for "Far Side of Eden Zero" and "Marvelous: Mouhitotsu no Takarajima". Popular hacks are available for Mario RPG, Mega Man X3, Mario Kart and Yoshi's Island. So if you own a SD2SNES you would need repros for Mario RPG hacks, Yoshi's Island hacks, Far Side of Eden Zero (translation), Marvelous (translation) and Star Fox 2. You would also need original carts (or repros) for Kirby Super Star, Kirby's Dream Land 3, Parodius 3 - Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius, Super Mario RPG, Star Fox and Yoshi's Island.
  14. I think the main selling point still is the very good NES core. The other cores are not on the same quality level and only a bonus in my opinion.
