does anyone know if you can use an atari 2600 joystick or a sega genesis (megadrive) controller on a pc? they both fit into the serial port, but i dont know how (if you can) to set up a serial port joystick to run in windows. i am running windows 98 se... anyone?

ya know how nes, game boy, snes, genesis etc have game genie, gbc, psx, nintendo 64 etc have gameshark .... was there ever a game enhancer like these for atari 2600? if not, has there ever been plans to make a homebrew one? i think this would be a great idea because who knows what we would discover? like on the nes gamegenie with super mario bros. 3, you can make up your own codes awnd alot of funky stuff happens (like misplaced objects, strange levels, etc)...

have any of you guys ever read 'game informer'? its a video game magazine just like any other except it has a small section about classic video games in each issue. i was wondering however, is there a magazine written and published by classic gamers like us that is strictly for CLASSIC video games? or is game informer the best i am gonna do?

are they all 'hacks' and 'takes' of other games? or do people actually program new atari 2600 games for a hobby and put them on a cartridge? if the second one is ever done, which i am sure it can be and probly is done soemtimes, are any of the games for sale? i always love to add games to my collection, and i am sure that there are some damn good programmers out there who could make some sick atari 2600 games .... also, i am not dissing the hacks, because they are great too... i am just wondering if anyone makes originals since i am considering making one myself (if i could ever get an eprom burner for cheap price) .....

i was just wondering ..... is there ways to 'beat' any old atari games? such as solaris, river raid, pitfall, pacman, donkey kong, etc..... ? or do they just keep going? i know that you can beat ET by collecting all of the pieces of the phone, but thats the only one that i have been able to 'beat'.

hey .... i recently made a discovery that im sure all of you guys probly made a long time ago lol .... the sega genesis controller fits into a atari 2600 joystick slot on the system, and the atari 2600 joystick fits into the genesis controller slot! does this mean that you can use the genesis controller on the atari 2600? if not, do they make an atari 2600 'controller' other than the joystick or paddles, ya kno like a regular controller like nes, genesis, snes, n64, playstation, etc etc...... thanx! - matt
