  1. Thanks for reply. Am going to solder the black wire from the battery - to the board first (do you know what solder point this needs to go on?) Think its next to the red wire. If that doesn't work, then i wanted to test the functionally of the lynx by bypassing the Q11 and if everything is ok, IE; screen, sound etc, I'll go ahead and replace the caps etc. If i need to bypass the Q11 do you know the references for the board. Cheers .
  2. Hi All, Hope someone can help. I have a mk1 lynx that doesn't power up and after reading the forum it looks like you can use a wire to bypass the Q11 . All the posts that I've read advise to the following; use a small wire from "headphone ground (middle pin) to the battery minus" problem is looking on the board and i can't seem to find were these are, would someone be able to point me in the right direction (also would a piece of speaker wire do the trick) I have a game in the lynx. When I opened it up there was already a back wire loose (which i presumed was used by someone else to bypass the Q11) but after looking at ifix pictures for the lynx this looks like it came from the battery minus to the solder next to the read wire. Am going to solder this first (can someone confirm the board number that it needs to go on) and if that doesn't work try bypassing Q11. Cheers James.
